The defense is insanely good. If we had even a mediocre offense we are either 6-0 or 5-1 right now. The defense is the lone bright spot on the entire team

It's been good, but insanely good? You gave up 42 to Miss. State, and let App State hang enough points on you to win. You barely beat the Hogs (give your defense credit for that one).
Good, but not elite.
My only point was to agree with the original idea that for the last few years the aggie fans have anointed their team as the SEC champs before the season starts - only to be disappointed over and over again. That was one such post.
And, before you say anything, LSU also has their sunshine-pumpers and they were just as annoying (especially in the last year of the Ogre). That said, most of us understand and accept where LSU is, and are hopeful of where we will be.
Honestly, A&M fans have never shown that level of honesty about their program and instead have a yearly pre-season wallow in the Pit of Hubris.
