Woopty doo. Doesn't mean shite, but you keep thinking that Top 15 class for LSU in year 1 = tourny success, just shows your lack of basketball knowledge which as an LSU fan, is about right. Still can't get an LSU fan that posts on here frequently to avi or sig bet that LSU is in the NIT next year, all talk.
Made it in 06 with a lot of unknowns. Granted most of those guys play in the nba rt now. Tyrus was a walk on until another player got dismissed and he was given that scholarship.
Not saying we make the final 4, but id expect us to make the tourney with the help coming in.

Again, you must be new to 247 not knowing their team rankings for basketball have been down and a mess the entire year.
Seem to be working just fine when Gordon committed to Arizona and they jumped way up to #2.
Also, seem to be working just fine when SMU was in the 40's and Frazier committed at McD's and they jumped up to #21.
But keep on derp'n.

Like I said, their rankings 11 days ago had Florida ahead of LSU
In an article, not a link to the actual list. I've seen them mess up things in articles all the time. Also if those were correct, things could have changed since then in something they did to affect the rankings. You dont know everything they do nor do I.
Even IF for whatever reason we're #9 right now, with literally 2 guys left in their Top 100 on the board, what makes you think we'll drop 2 spots? You haven't given 1 logical reason.

UCLA could.
NCStates class isn't done, UCLA also has a 4 star top 60 overall player deciding Thursday as well.
Is Michigans class done with how many they'll have leave for the draft? I see they have an offer out to an uncommitted 3 star player #165 and they're already #12.
Too many classes left to be finished, 4 of the JUCO Top 10 overall players are uncommitted, and 9 of the Top 20.
Rivals and 247 award points for JUCO's, ESPN does not.
ETA: Make that 8 of the Top 20, Desmond Lee committed to NCState yesterday, #16 overall JUCO player, but likely not enough to push them ahead unless they take another player.
ETA2: Arkansas is sitting at what, #12 I think I saw on your 247 link, we'll have a Top 5 overall JUCO commit here any week now, but again, probably won't bump us ahead, depends on how many points they award a high end JUCO. Rivals awards more than 247 I've noticed.

Try and focus here, we're talking about 247. JUCOs are irrelevant in this. They do not rank them and when factoring in the overall they just give every JUCO a "70" as a player rating so adding one isn't doing anything.
There's 2 Top 100 players left, Wiggins could go anywhere, no one knows honestly where he's going. If he goes to UCLA, maybe even FSU they could jump us....but I'm failing to see where there's going to be a commit that's going to affect us outside of that. So we'd still be Top 10 there, your ranking or the actual current ranking being used for us. The only other Top 100 player on the board is considering schools that wouldn't change anything in the Top 10 (at least in terms of pushing us down).

Right, I'm saying they award points for JUCO's. NCState just took one, and have a possible #165 overall commit and they're I think #14, I don't know if that would be enough to put them at say #9 or whatever or not.
If UCLA lands Wiggins, which I don't even think he's considering them anymore but he may be, UCLA will jump like Arizona did and in Top 5 for sure, and UCLA actually is in really good shape for that 4 star PF as well (announces Thursday), they could end up #2 or #3 overall.

Yes, they award a 70 player rating for EVERY JUCO on 247, which means it helps your ranking basically not at all when you're looking at the top classes. What moves you up when you're that high is getting really good commits, guys rated 90+.

So in your scenario, realistically, only 1 team could jump us. NC State being 5 spots behind us currently isn't going to jump landing a 3-star.

That was just one team, I'm not going in depth for each team and seeing who all they are still going after.
Could be some players flip too with coaching changes taking place.

Look at LSU's average class, it's 85.6.
Martin - 98
Mickey - 97
Quarterman - 93
That would be an average of 96. With 2 JUCOs they are factoring in each as a 70 because they give all JUCOs a 70. With 2 70's added to those other 3, it brings our average down to 85.6...much lower.

There's literally only a handful of players left that can shake up the rankings towards the top. If you're so confident that there's no ay LSU stays Top 10 on there, then you need at least 3 scenarios for 3 teams that can jump us to close out. Adding JUCOs does nothing to help so dont go there. You have 1 with UCLA. NC State being 5 spots lower adding a 3-star won't jump either.

Yeah but how do they award points?
NCState is 3.70 points behind LSU, Arkansas is 3.11.
NCState adds a 165 overall and a 70 JUCO is that 3.7 points worth?

Impossible to know, how many guys could be flipping? Or a coaching change so they are going to switch?
How many soft commits are there or guys that committed but didn't sign in the early signing period that could flip?
What if half of Michigan's team declares for the draft and Beilein makes a call to some committed players and gets them to visit and flip with instant playing time and what not?

LSU is less than 2 points away from Arizona and they have a 100 and 98....basically you're going to need some BIG time commits to move up.
UK is about 5 points away from us and well, their class is unreal.
I dont see a 3-star moving a team up from the teens to Top 8.

Almost everyone is signed at this point, basketball recruiting is not like football recruiting. The 2nd signing period is in just a week I believe too. So guys like Gordon and Frazier are signing very soon. I highly doubt they would commit to a school last week only to change it a week from now.
Posted on 4/9/13 at 3:51 am to thunderbird1100
I'm sure a few players will be making a change, whether it's high profile enough or not who knows.
Michigan and Louisville have players declare for the draft and they make some calls to kids that had interest before, they'd likely listen.
Too many variables right now.

Can you give instances in the past where committed players switched so close to the 2nd signing day? Basketball recruiting is not like football recruiting one bit. Most of these kids are already signed and the big names who announced just recently aren't going to flip with signing day in a week. I mean do you expect Randle to flip from UK? Parker to flip from Duke? Gordon to flip from Arizona?
Im sure a flip happens here and there, but it's super rare and i honestly cant remember 1 this close to to the 2nd NSD.

Not off the top of my head and this late, may have been a few, doesn't mean it can't happen this year though.
Wonder why 247 shows Jermaine Lawrence uncommitted on their Top 247 yet if you click on him he's committed to Cincinnati.

Cincinnati icon has been messed up for as long as I can remember. He's committed and showing up there.

Lsu has starting five coming back. All bench coming back adding 3 top fifty recruits, 1 McDonald's all American, a 7 ft juco all American, and a 7ft Australian that averaged 19 points a game on the Australian national team. Lsu won 19 games with no bench and a tuba player.

Like usual, lotta piggies are gonna be crying next year when LSU finishes ahead of them in another major sport...again and again and again.
Let's just start up the "LSU pads its attendance numbers" threads now.
