Wake Forest is 1-8 in the ACC. Now, LSU did lose to that Wake Forest team, but I don't think anyone is going to call that Wake Forest win a good one for Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt's best win is over Florida, probably? They have also beaten Alabama. LSU has beaten Alabama and Kentucky, and also holds a head-to-head win over Vanderbilt on the road. Head-to-head doesn't mean too much, but it's not nothing.

I don't give teams TOO much credit for playing a bunch of good teams if they lose to them all. And that's exactly what Vanderbilt has done. Obviously, you'd rather lose to good teams than to bad teams (like LSU), but I still think what you do in WINS matters a lot more to the committee.

Florida had pretty much done the same up until the big win against West Virginia.

I mean, after 12 years I'd be happy with any spot but an 8 or 9 would be unfortunate. Even if we can get a win we'd have to play a 1 seed afterwards. Very small chance of any kind of push in the tournament.

Hypothetically, if the bracket now was how it will be, we'd play unc in the Rd of 32. Could you imagine the shite storm if we beat them in Raleigh?!?!

North Carolina is going to win the national championship.

You don't want any of that. NOBODY wants any of that.

Not saying either of those wins are great (although Stony Brook is a very solid win).

But what's LSU's best non-conference win? UNF?

LSU has a win over Kentucky. That's it. Oh, and Ben Simmons.

I'm not saying Vandy's resume is anything special, but, right now, it's better than LSU's.

Neither really has a good enough out-of-conference win for it to matter, IMO.

LSU also beat Vanderbilt in their building.

LSU also has losses to Houston, Marquette, Wake Forest, and Charleston. Vandy's worst loss is Arkansas.

Neither team has a resume that justifies an at-large bid. Both could by the end of the month. But neither should be included right now. That's my only point.

And to your point about UF earlier, we had a really nice neutral-court win over St. Joe's before Saturday.

Marquette and Houston are probably pretty comparable to Arkansas. Marquette is probably better.

LSU probably has 3 bad losses, but 2 of those came without two starters.

Patterson, Victor, and Hornsby all start now. We were without two of them for the Marquette, NC State, Charleston, and Houston losses. Sampson started a few of those games. He didn't play at all against Oklahoma. Robinson started a few of those games. He played about 2 minutes against Oklahoma.

LSU with their full team has been very solid. The committee will probably account for that. It's not just RPI, and it's really not just résumé. You have to see the whole story.
