No? Idk what this OP is about. Texas is playing all its rivals again after 30+ years. Nobody gives a frick about Baylor or Texas Tech. We are plenty regional with the SEC.

I won’t lie, I’d have loved a Bama matchup this prior season instead of Georgia. What a bloodbath that would have been.

I agree on Baylor, leave them in the C-USA. Tech will surpass Arkansas.

Pate's list is decent but OK State should be SWC and BYU Big 8. BYU-Utah and Oklahoma-OK State should be conference rivals, Rice shouldn't have a program

It’s not perfect but waaay more regional/radial than usc in the big 10.

This is obviously much more than just the OP with this regional nonsense. Back in the days when men were men and the 11-game schedules reflected that, the SEC only played 5 and 6 regional SEC games. The rest of the OOC schedule was filled with major college teams like USC, Nebraska, Washington, Boston College, Notre Dame, Penn State, etc, etc. So, a lot of this talk about losing regional flavor and losing the glory days of yesteryear is just more nonsense. We play more regional games in Nick Saban's BAMA than Coach Bryant's BAMA.

Regionality might work if you had some kind of overall agreement on a tv contract to pay the same to all the regions.

No one in the Big10 or SEC wants that. The SEC specifically broke away from an entity that was set up to do that.
