Florida’s position from the start has been that the uncertainty of the hurricane’s path, combined with the unknowns regarding what kind of damage to the local community and public services it might wreak, necessitated the game be postponed.

Don't get me wrong. I think it was petty to release the emails.

It was really unnecessary right? We all know that UF was using the situation to their advantage. Or at least that's what I thought.

Several posters here said they needed the money and couldn't afford not to have a home game.

The way he stomped his foot and refused to play in Gainesville on the 19th because they were supposed to have a home game that day.

How? He didnt want to give up a game game just like Foley didnt want to give up his...

Only difference is we provided numerous solutions to the problem, including flying in and out on the day of the game as to not tie up any lodging that might be necessary due to the storm since you know, that was one of Foley's things apparently...

Yeah. Let's laugh at a potential devastating storm that could have really effed up the Florida coast and the surrounding communities near Gainesville. Fortunately the storm whimpered out. As a LSU fan you should be able to sympathize with that thought, seeing as a certain storm that shan't be named didn't weaken enough before making landfall a few years back.

which team?

Both of them. They are both at fault for letting it get to this point. Both schools acted like children in the negations. The whole damn thing is silly.Neither team took the high road. Both the laughing are stock of the conference. They both should be ashamed. So to hell with them both.

Out of the two cities, one was severely affected by a natural disaster. One could use the immediate economic relief. Why should that city be punished for a natural disaster missing the other city by 50 miles?

None of which were viable at the time they were proposed as they had no idea just how bad the storm would be at the time. They had a rough idea on the direction it was moving but there was nothing definitive at that point.

Alleva wanted to make a contingency plan. If storm is bad, then postpone it.

Many people in SEC circles believe Alleva seized on the issue with Florida to help boost his own job status, as his own fan base considers it a win to negotiate his way into an extra home game this season.

Lol, playing into the stupidity of their fans

Hindsight is 20/20. Fortunately Gainesville and the surrounding communities weren't seriously affected but there was no possible way to know what would happen at the time the negotiations were going on. Alleva and Foley both should be ashamed of how they handled it. They both used a potentially life threatening event to measure their dicks. Disgusting.

Here's something that's fascinating...the emails, which according to a national writer make Alleva look bad...were obtained through a Baton Rouge station's FOA request.

Is the BR media trying to embarrass Alleva?

Remember when LSU played a home game in Arizona? The year they had a SEC game moved to Monday? LSU did everything they could to play their games that year, as they did this year. Foley ducked LSU. These are facts.

How you can actually type that shite is beyond me. Answer how every other team involved in the state of Florida managed to play a game? How did ND play a game in North Carolina during the same storm? Why could the game not be played on Sunday or Monday? LSU stated very publicly we would come and play both of those days. Do you have an answer other than LSU is wrong for making those poor gators come to BR when they instead could have had their home game?

The game was postponed but Alleva's contingency plan was to move the game to Tiger Stadium. Not really fair for Florida but whatever.

He offered to fly in Sunday morning and fly out Sunday evening, or play on Monday.

Foley's answer? Saturday at noon or nothing at all.

LSU fans have some valid points, but this isn't one of them. That game was an absolute shitfest that was still delayed by lightning, and you just look foolish by trying to use it as evidence to support your point. That game shouldn't have been played.

Edit...don't just drive by downvote pal. Make an argument. Tell me where I'm wrong.
