Due to the land values in Miami and the surrounding townships lots of old original clubs have been town down and replaced by crappy 20+ story condos. lots of the old carpet joints past North Beach near Hollywood have been torn down and replaced by Trump branded crap they sold to the non Americans as the Americans were too smart to buy that overpriced crap. Technically Trump did not actually build them, he just got a fee (1M to 5 M per building) for putting his name on them.

On a historical note from an old guy, those old carpet joints were the precursors to early Las Vegas and most of the joints built the same names as Vegas got developed. They were called carpet joints as they replaced the old sawdust joints owned by the Mafia where they literally just had gambling and were so rough they had sawdust floors. When they built the carpet joints they were actually pretty swank and had fine dining, nice hotels, and top flight entertainment in the nightclub part. It was full service so you check into the hotel and enjoy the beach and pool during the day then dress up, have an nice dinner, and gamble while top singers and bands played for you.

Funny story....I ran into Richie Brown and his wife on a course here in Charlotte, the day before OTA’s started. Ended up playing the round with them. Dude can crush a forehand with his Felon.
