Coach, I know you have connections. So on a serious note, why can't Mullen get along with his assistants?

Mullen is a dick- just like Saban is. But Saban has coached at LSU and Bama where it doesnt matter.

When you coach at State- coaches have other alternatives

I talked to him once and got the same impression.

You think anymore coaches will jump ship before the sanctions?

It doesn't make sense to me either, but Brewster, Wilson, and Smith all got out.

That's a lot of turnover in a short amount of time. That's not a good sign of things to come IMHO.

Melvin was told to find another job- that's a fact

There's two stories on Wilson- a) he had had enough....b) he was told to find another job- I can't say definitively to either

Brewster left because it's easier to recruit to Fla State than Miss State- and he sees that as his way back

Coaching turnover is part of the game- especially when you have good coaches. It had zero to do with the NCAA. The NCAA is looking more into the 7 on 7 crap and what's going on in Memphis- they arent focusing on State

Mullen's a dick. He can't keep the best coaching staff in school history together. And with the best coaching staff in school history, they only manage 8 wins.

What kind of messages do you think these things send to recruits?

I think there are some things that need to be fixed in Starkville if State wants to be successful anytime soon.

What does it send when McGriff bolted as well? It happens. Fact is, your entire assistant staff is now on the radar with that recruiting class. Do you really think OM is going to be able to hold onto the hot commodities? How many hotshot assistants do we see bolting Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc every year? Fact is, there are bunches of them... Hell, Florida St lost 3/4 of their entire staff this offseason. When you hire the best and brightest -- they move on. Simple fact of life at MSU or Ole Miss. If you get them and manage to keep them longterm, chances are that you should be looking in another direction anyway.

Like what? We need to increase the assistant salary pool by about a cool million and let Mullen decide how it gets divided. We also need to double the recruiting budget. We need to get Koenning out of there -- and Sallach back out of there. Beyond that, what would you have us do?

Yeah, you aren't trolling**

Now I can see why Mississippi State hates y'all. Damn, y'all are cocky bastards for a team that hasn't been relevant for what 50 +years?

What is cocky about saying state will only win 5 games?

Well we have to coaches that could move on and I will always be our DL and DB coach. The rest are Freeze or OM guess. Wommack will retire in 3-5 and if we can promise Kiffin the DC job when he does then we may just need to replace that DB job every few years

This. We don't have the funds to keep the better assistant coaches.

Smart is making almost a million dollars. Chavis is about 900k. Wilson and Diaz made about 250k. Texas gave Diaz 600k.
