I agree with you.

I doubt he holds a "formal role," he will likely just serve as an unofficial mentor and consult for DeBoer.

I think a lot of this talk of him "being around" and all is simply him trying to calm the fanbase and allow for a smooth transition.

Dude didn't buy a $17 million dollar house in Jupiter and make it his primary residence to be still working day to day in Tuscaloosa.

I would agree. But his recruiting focus needs to nest inside the vision of DeBoers and what players he wants for his system. I am a little concerned about too many cooks in the kitchen with this arrangement.

Saban being involved is just bama lying to keep recruits around. Hell be around a few months max.
