Why would Clemson want to join the SEC? All they have to worry about now is beating FSU and avoid getting upset along the way.
the acc is much tougher to win than you will ever concede. not just about beating fsu

I think the next expansion will be into Virginia and Texas. Both have large TV Markets and would allow for some geographical competition.

Yes, for plenty of reasons. The SEC Network money for just one reason.

There's an understanding among universities that no team within the same state of an existing team will be invited.
That's why FSU & Clemson haven't already been invited.
it has two teams from TN, MS and AL. guess i don't get why the other states can't have two

Yeah, but they'd put Clemson in the West like idiots.

fsu is my most hated team and fanbase though so i wud like to not play them anymore. i've always hoped they wud bolt acc

clemson's recruiting would be even more unbelievable if Clemson was in the SEC. not being in the sec is probably the number one way how SEC coaches recruit against Clemson.
The number one way coaches recruit against you taterheads is to offer more money and incentives than Dabo offers.
Just ask Ole Miss - and it works.
The second way coaches recruit against Clemson is to explain the sheephumping rituals y'all have up there ... and the incestual relationships y'all cherish and all that.
The third way to recruit against Clemson is to simply show the history ... explain who Pitchfork Ben Tillman was and then point towards the Tillman Clock Tower.
After all of that then you start explaining about the difference between the SEC and the ACC.

Those decisions were made 80 years ago. Before big money got involved. We would invite NC State long before we invite Clemson.

Why did you ask this question? I wasn't editorializing, I was answering a question you asked. Whether you personally do or not, yes people would like their schools in the SEC.

i don't think most ACC fans do. sec viewed as a big step down academically, etc.

No. The media market and money that would be added would not overcome several schools who wouldn't want the expansion, most notably USC. We added A&M and Mizzou because of their respective t.v. markets. Clemson just doesn't bring that kind of juice. I would think the only likely expansion would be NC school or UT or Oklahoma if the Big 12 dissolves.

this assumes bama would always win, and Bama will be as good post Saban, something i highly doubt.

ACC fans wouldn't be asking the question and getting their feelings hurt when they hear the answers if they didn't want into the SEC.
And lets be honest, expansion is about athletics, not academics and most of those are also just state schools.

lol no because Clemson obviously has better talent right now.
in a way i think the Spurrier years will be a curse on SC fans b/c he got expectations so high but the program he built wasn't built to last post-Spurrier. then he recommended a coach who isn't good on offense.
