Oh yeah, as far as the topic of respecting a rivals football program...
I have mixed feelings about bama. I can respect the results, but their methods for decades of paying recruits, families, high schools, high school coaches and so forth to a greater degree than any other program in the country doesn't really bother me, but does make me think bama would be an old miss type program if they just cheated at the level most others do.
So I respect the result but believe that most of what separates bama from mediocrity throughout its history is just paying more and in more ways for talent than anyone else.
As for UGA, frick em. Not worth any more of a response.

Link? I've always seen the opposite. Very rare to see Bama ranked higher than Auburn unless its something specific like business school.

US news and world report only. Read about their methodology and the push by bama about 10-12 years ago to do things to get their ranking up according to their methodology which is useless.
Auburn has always has higher admission standards, tougher grading, less grade inflation, and its alums have always made more.
All of the above has been true every single year, consecutively, for decades.

They rank higher in US News. That started about 10 years ago when bama made a push to specifically inflate their rankings in the criteria used by US News which is a very poor methodology. There have been long threads here tearing apart their methodology

Well everybody knows not to take that list seriously.

Admittedly, I have not looked at this in a few years
In 2015, Bama was ranked higher
Bama had been ranked higher in every list I ever looked at
LINK
For 2017 and 2018; AU urn is ranked higher, but not by a lot (did not find 2016, I'm on my pho e and these searches are a pain in the arse on mobile)
That seems to prove my point that perceptions are changing

Not among the Auburn homers.

See, that takes you to US News and World reports like I mentioned.

Plus we've always been ranked higher in things that really matter like value of degree and average salary of graduates.

I'm not trolling here, I was praising Auburn and giving an honest assessment of my perception as an outsider looking in
Don't be so easily offended, it's not a good look...

Having said that I wasn't trolling, I do think that this quote for AL.com ia worth mentioning
From 2016
quote:
9. Auburn University - Auburn's 83.5 percent acceptance rate is the highest of any SEC school.
From 2016

You didn't even attend Auburn sidewalker......

Okay? That wouldn't change anything, even if you had any way of knowing where I did or didn't attend college.

I’ve always heard that those numbers (at least ours vs Bama’s) are due to differences in how the institutions calculated their respective numbers
(Not trying to sound offended or anything, in case it came across that way
)
Also googling “Auburn acceptance rate” gives a 77.7% number from 2016

The article you posted is based on something that appears to no longer exist. Here is where the link in the article takes you:
LINK
Anyway, I'll explain it to you. The criteria which pushes bamas ranking up in US News and apparently in the rankings you link that dont exist anymore is admissions selectivity.
Now, as you know AU is significantly harder to get into than bama. Everyone knows this, or practically everyone. However, bama has a MUCH lower acceptance rate than AU, 51 vs 83%. The much lower acceptance rate pushes bama way up and artificially so compared to AU in US News rankings and also the one you linked.
The reason is bama is very active in recruiting anyone and everyone and advertises its lower admission standards. A ton more unqualified people apply to bama. People that dont even bother applying to AU and have no shot at getting into AU. With a ton of unqualified applicants, Alabama's admissions rate is very low even though they have lower standards than Auburn and accept lesser students.
See how this works and how the US News rating is worthless when comparing AU and Bama, even though AU ranks higher now? By the way, the reason AU now ranks higher is US News changed its formula to give more weight to graduation rates over admissions a couple of years ago. Still the admissions criteria is a terrible one and should be gone.

Then quit being a little bitch
In all seriousness, I am proud of my boy and excited about seeing him go to Auburn
He was almost ready to sign on the line at UGA, and I would have loved seeing it (he has a 4.39 GPA and a 32 on the Act, and could have gone wherever he wanted)
The Auburn choice is saving me money, Bama would have been even cheaper

Oh yeah, quoted from you link:
And again, the above is true even though Auburn is much harder to get into due to the quality of the applicant

University of Alabama - Its 51 percent acceptance rate is the fourth-lowest
