BYU? I don't know. They're the prima donna of the West. Could they and Texas co-exist?

The big 12 explored adding BYU when Colorado and Nebraska left. It didn't work, in part because of BYU's refusal to hold athletic events on Sundays. The big 12 plays a lot if basketball on Sundays. Plus, the travel was going to create nightmares and a lot of expense. BYU walked away, as I understood it. Some things would have to change for them to join a major conference.

One good thing I see is that division IV would force Notre Dame to join the ACC full time or maybe even the B1G

If Domers find any home it will be the ACC. Branding is a big issue if the Irish stay in the public eye going forward.

Irish in the ACC means markets in Chicago and East Coast

Irish in the B1G and they must share IN with IU and PU, Detroit with UM and MSU, and Chicago with NU and Illinois. Within a decade they would just be lost in all the nearby schools.
