Probation is irrelevant these days. Look at baylor. You take your couple years in the cellar and then you get right back up baby.

I think Lane is a good hire, he's a better coach than most people give him credit. He has also matured from when he was at Tennessee. He won't have much of a recruiting base but the teams will be exciting
