OM's offensive line will be fine as long as Markusen is there (you'd think after 10 years I'd be able to remember how to spell his name )

mmjones, the bottom line is he's gonna be there in the mix with Sowell.

Ross you really seem cruel. I am sorry that your once so prestegeous Auburn program is in total shambles today starting at the top with Bobby Lowder the guy who practically owns the program and thinks he's some guru but doesn't know jack shite about football. I am sure within the next couple of decades and Saban's not there getting all the decent Alabam talent you guys will regain some of the respect you had under Tuberville and Dye. I know in sports we have to be patient but please don't be a jerk about it ok.

I agree. Im just saying some Rantards think we are depending on him to be our saving grace. I just wanted to clarify that we are not

Wild rebel time - unfortunately I think Ole Miss probably wins the West but if you want to bet on the them to win the National Championship - I will give you 5-1 odds and take that bet.

This thread is chock full of all kinds of stupidity.

And remember, you still have a coach that has never won shite and he had alot more talent at Arkansas than he does at Ole Miss.

trex the vegas odds are 50-1 which I find outrageous.

That is why I say go with it. You are probabaly right, it's probably more like 5-1, maybe 4-1 BUT. remember a few things;

1. alot of experts think Texas may be there too. HDN is 2-1 against Texas and Texas is very similiar in style to TexasTech who they killed in the cottonbowl. Texas has struggled in the running game since adapting the spread and Ole Miss is equipped to stop that offense anyway.

2. If it's ohio state, they typically don't have the athletes to compete with a good SEC team.

3. If it's southern Cal that's a program that could beat Ole Miss, but they'll likely have to go undeafeted and that's unlikely.

4. The SEC has won the last 3 I don't see why it can't be 4.

5. Even though Florida has a ton of experienced talent returning I think losing Mullen coupled with putting Tebow under center for the first time in his life could have its disadvantages. All depending on how committed Meyer is to more of a pro-style approach when the old way was working it could set the offense back a little bit. If it comes down to Florida vs Ole Miss, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, I'd give ole Miss a 45% chance today based on their front 7, special teams, and they are returning the same offense and coordinator. They went through their growing pains of putting a shotgun qb under center last year. If they avoid USC, I give them a 55% chance against anyone else in the bcs

Hold up. Are you claiming Ole Miss should be 5-1 to win the national championship next year?

What...the...frick?

We have a decent bit more talent than Arkansas had.
Sure Arkansas had McFadden and Jones, two players that are better than any player we have on the team, but we are way more talented on Defense at WR and actually have a QB.

duke, if you had the presence of mind to actually read the entire thread instead of harp on the first sentence, you'd see why that prediction was made by a professional prognosticator (me)

ihateAU, what sense does that make for me to make a bet with you at 10-1, when I can make my bet in vegas at 50-1! LOL.

I'm going to vegas this summer and I'm putting 2500 down on Ole Miss to win it all. If they do, whats 2500 times 50? If they don't? Well, remember you can lose 2 conference games in the SEC and still make it sometimes too :) And remember, Nutt is a big time coach who has outcoached Urban Meyer twice with lesser talented teams and he's due for his big ring.

Since when? You win (or atleast make it to) several big games to be considered a big time coach. And no, one Cotton Bowl doesnt count.

You are the Ole Miss version of Hawg Alude if you think we should be anything anywhere close to 5-1.
