Why would we pay a player who lived in BR to come to LSU. Dumbass

Because Ole Miss might pay him to leave.

Guice went to a Catholic high school. That high school paid for his tuition also. Guice has never paid for anything.

Except for the emotional distress from his father being killed when his was just a little kid.

I love how the article assumes Guice needs "50,000 sitting around" to buy a new Range Rover. Nearly anyone in America, rich or poor, can get a loan. And even if you can't, these players all have at least one relative who can. There are plenty of uncles out there who will take out a loan and fix their nephew up with a new ride, assuming that when the NFL check comes they will remember the uncle who took care of them. It's how nearly all of these athletes ride around in relatively nice cars. And it is perfectly legal under NCAA rules. Hell, loans are how most poor Americans still end up riding around in nice cars.

I don't give two shites about it. I also realize he isn't paying a dime for college and don't pretend to have any idea what his family background is economically.

Well, I know he is from a rough neighborhood in Baton Rouge. He seems to have chosen the straight and narrow and his brother is facing felony charges for his involvement in some kind of major crime. This according to an ESPN piece I saw. I also know he will be drafted into the NFL next draft. I have to ask myself is this young man worth the risk of a loan? Would I loan him the money for this vehicle? I would have to say yes I would. Seems like I would likely receive a full payment in less than a year, and make a little interest. If he doesn't pay it off early, great I will make even more. The only thing that raises my eyebrows about this, is that he took the post down. Even if I knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that vehicle was paid for by an alumnus, I would just think, "more power to him."

An arm and a leg. A solid QB at LSU is the equivalent to the great white buffalo.

meh could have made a deal with a dealership for low payments or deferred payment till he gets to the NFL. Still...can that not wait till you get paid? Not good optics, and tells your teammates that the NFL is your priority goal at the moment, not tge team
