If you had watched this game you wouldn't be using it as an example buddeh. Masoli had 3 tds and 2 big 3rd downs dropped. Plain out dropped. He also had a nice rushing day including a highlight reel td run that may have been his most impressive scamper of the year.
And like has been stated, our D shite the bed that game....oh If I would've only known that that game was a precursor....

My question is if Ole Miss' defense was really THAT BAD, why weren't any changes made to to defensive Staff???

Masoli was probably dealing with some culture-shock as well. Even a progressive southern community like Oxford, MS is no Oregon.

Because it wasn't JUST the staff that was the problem. Our two best veteran DB's weren't that good at all and were hindered by surgeries in the offseason. They weren't up to full speed. Our other DB's were first year players with no experience. We also had absolutely NO pass rush from the ends after Lockett went out.
No pass rush + lack of quality, experienced DB's = terrible defense. We stopped the run typically very well.
and any possibly staff changes aren't going to happen just yet. IMHO, Nix got WAY too much credit in 08-09 and is getting WAY too much blame for 2010

Was just reading on the state boards how if they got denard robinson they could use him like dex and he would prb be better than dex...

I watch a lot of football, and I don't profess to be some sort of expert, but I'm calling bullshite on this. Denard is fast and shifty, but he's not nearly as elusive as Dex. He does have a much better arm than Dex (that isn't to say he has a good arm, but it's serviceable) making him a more dual-threat type guy. In a footrace they're pretty even I guess but this is football, not track. Being fast is great, but being elusive is far more valuable.

Saying Denard Robinson would be as good as Dex is not a stupid statement imo. I mean I think Dex was unreal, but Robinson is on that level. The fact is that no one knows. Robinson can be elusive too, but when you are an option quarterback you're forced to make more downfield runs instead of catching it in the open flats like Dex so it's hard to compare.

You just need to slow down a little bit. Did last year not teach you anything?

I really enjoyed watching Shoelace this year, dude can scat. But I am curious as to how fast he would've looked had he been playing agianst SEC defenses and not Uconn, Notre Dame, etc. He sure as shite didn't look fast against Michigan State or Mississippi State, obviously.
Not saying the dude isn't fast, not at all. But you rarely see a guy like Dex, who, in the SEC, could shift into a gear noone else had and say HOLLA.

I think Robinson has the same level of talent and speed burst. He didn't get to show it after the first quarter. We looped our ends where he couldn't get outside anymore. He would be dangerous in Mullen's offense. He put some passes on the money that were dropped in that game.

I highly doubt that Robinson is coming to State.
