How about working for Fortune 100 company for 5 years where we don't even recruit the Ole Miss campus but recruit MSU heavily?

How about when I go down to career fair for MSU, Ole Miss students are about 10% of the students in the mix, and when I ask them why they are there, they say because employers don't show up for their career fair?

I don't know about the last 5 years, but that was definitely NOT the case when I recruited for ERAC for West TN. There were far better students at Ole Miss and there were plenty of good employers there (I won't include ERAC in that, because most people think it is a joke of a job even though it really isn't.)

This thread has gotten out of hand. Lets just all step back and take a look at the facts.

We are better than you!

And these things differ how between OM and MSU?

I love the, "Well you get State grads that go to the med school and law school but they aren't REALLY Ole Miss students" argument.

Yet biomed engineering at MSU has some of the highest med school acceptance rates in the country... Surely, you don't think they all go to UAB do you?

After the Egg Bowl and NSD, ole Dan hasnt had alot to run his mouth about. Guess he was itching to fire a shot, which is fine. Freeze will just continue to recruit circles around him and win on the field

As an LSU fan, I have always viewed Ole Miss as the premiere school in Mississippi. Don't know if it's only my perception or in fact reality.

Well, considering that a good portion of the US thinks that Mississippi State is Ole Miss' official non-slang name, I don't think you're alone.

We are THE University of Mississippi. Bottom line. We are the flagship school. You can say State is a better school, has more students, leads to better jobs, etc. but we are the flagship school. Flagship has nothing to so with what goes on at the schools and changing stats. We have always been and always will be the flagship school of the Mississippi. Quit worrying about it and move on. It doesn't make you any less of a person.

how exactly do you think schools are given flagship status? Do you seriously think this is an opinionated matter?

They are BOTH flagship universities of the state of MS -- in the same way that aTm and Texas are BOTH flagship universities of the state of Texas.

Dan will proceed to win the Egg back this year.

Congrats to the perfect storm in recruiting last year. Please tell me none of you honestly expect that to happen again?

Whether or not it's true, I don't know. But don't say you guys are the flagship like it's a freakin scientific fact

I'm not saying it as a way to say "We're more important than y'all"

It has nothing to to with athletics that decides what the flagship university of a state is. We were the first public university in the state of Mississippi, have the largest enrollment in our system and we are the liberal arts university of the state. Those are what a flagship university is. Texas, Alabama and Florida are all the flagship universities of their states for the same reasons.

Sorry if I came off as an arrogant prick. I wasn't trying to be.
