Yeah dude, he was.
That Jesus was a pretty interesting feller. He was a Buddhist. He was also a Rabbi, and he damn founded the largest Church in world history. Not too shabby.
The three wisemen were Buddhists. Searching for the new Dalai Lama. When the Dalai Lama dies, they send out Monks to find the new one. Who is just the reincarnated dude who just died. And they take gifts with them to present to the baby. Trinkets from the Lama's past life. If the baby favors them, there's a good chance it's him. Or so they believe. So then the new dude goes off and lives in temple for a long time. Before becoming an ascended master.
Jesus checks all the boxes.

Well man, I mean, it's right there in the story we all learn as children. I've got a nativity scene right here in front of me. That entire story describes in exact detail what happens when monks go in search of the new Lama. They're even guided by the stars.
No need to go to all the trouble of founding new religions and claim miracles when these monks have done this exact thing since who knows how long ago.
