By far the best road game experience (minus the loss) to date for me. Great college town, the majority of the Dawg fans around us were great.

The only thing I would suggest in Athens is that the cops focus more on controlling the crime around the campus and less on harassing people for open containers and jaywalking.

But that would be doing their job and DANGEROUS.

They don't really even harass older folks, mostly just students...

APD and the UGA Cops are a bunch of junior nazi pricks

Tried to warn yall mulitple times on tiger rant and the sec rant in all the Athens topics leading up to the game. I hope yall didn't get cited.

ETA- one of our tailgate buddies got cited less than 10 feet from campus for an open beer... not making trouble or yelling or dressed like a freak or anything else, just one of hundred of other people in the area, just drew the bullshite card that day I guess..total bullshite

Yhe key for our defense is we are good at stopping the run up the middle. taht is LSU's bread and butter...and Alabama's for that matter. Speed on the edges still kill us. We will struggle against A&M, Oregon...those type teams. Power running games we can hang with. We match up well against LSU, Alabama, Stanford.....not saying we would win those games...just play better against those teams.

Crap. You ought to see what they do to our own players! One guy did not have a DL and was going to get one and got arrested. Another was arrested for driving a scooter without a liscence. no warning. Arrested.

He was a bad hombre!

Glad you enjoyed it. You got lucky. We DO have a certain faction of the fan base that can be.....testy.

do think that UGA is likely to represent the East in Atlanta for the 3rd time in a row and i am not so sure that I would not rather see Bama than the Tigers again (rematches generally don't go well for the team that won the 1st time, just ask Bobby Bowden or Les Miles...)

You're right regarding rematches. Do you mind telling me about the 2003 season? Georgia lost a close one then was blown out in the rematch. Could you see the same thing happening this season where the roles are switched?

Yes, it helps that Mettenberger isn't a duel threat quarterback, but it doesn't change the fact that your front 7 stepped up and delivered. The back 4 needs some work, but Georgia is probably the closest to being a championship caliber team at this point.

I want to thank the uga fans for being awesome hosts... walking around campus, everyone was nice as it was our first time in Athens... dealt with your typical light hearted smack talking, and depending on how you take it, a beer was handed to you right away... being as I just rolled with the punches, many beers were given to me throughout the day... too bad I don't drink.

Solid hosts, for every 1 a-hole uga fan we met after the game, we met 10 great ones. Good time all around, will definitely be making another trip there

Congratulations Ga, could have gone either way, but you were very deserving of the win especially playing that schedule. Ga let it be known they will be a tough one for any team to bring down. LSU is just now dealing with its tough schedule, hopefully we can match your wins and earn a rematch. Like Ga, LSU would certainly deserve it after having played its schedule.

I'll say this about my Tigers, the offense played one hell of game in a hostile environment. Tuscaloosa isn't gonna mean chit, LSU gonna light up the fricking Tide.

Agree with the OP. Great ball game. I wish our defense had held up their end of the deal, but I could not be prouder of Mett and the work he has done this season as well as the rest of the O. Football is what it is: we scored off a turnover ; Dawgs did too. Congrats UGA for a well deserved victory. Murray is the real deal. I hope we get to see you again this year.

Just like last year where you lit up the the tide to the tune of 17 points? Seriously, that's all you could muster versus a defense that was on the field for 40 minutes? People like to point out that game as Mettenberger's breakout, yet you must be impressed that Alabama only let LSU into the end zone twice that night despite spending 40 minutes on the field and giving up 298 yards through the air.

Looks like someones in for a very rude awakening and its not Ga or LSU, they are the best teams in the conference. Bama fans best get ready to deal with the loss!

Why don't you focus on beating Florida and Ole Miss first? Don't forget about Texas A&M and Arkansas to end the season.
