Congrats TAMU…

Bittersweet end to a great run. We have more than 43 scholarship athletes. We have less than 85. But we had what it takes to win last night.

Coaching. Execution. Talent. Toughness. We did not win in any of these areas last night. We came close early in the 3rd. But moral victories aren’t what I’m here to talk about.

I love that our team fights. Love our grit. We don’t give up. In 2 of our 3 L’s we were tied or in position to tie the game in the 2nd half. For this program…under the previous regime…we’d seen kids quit. We’d seen defeatist attitudes.

We don’t do that. Which is a positive.

But we also didn’t set the edge. We didn’t win 1st and 2nd down. We didn’t get off the field on 3rd down. When we did, we committed huge turnovers that led to points off the TO.

We just didn’t have what it takes…and you all did.

You got great push and Achane was a warrior. He performed like a champion. Very impressed. Weigman takes care of the Ball but also pushes the ball downfield. For a young player, that’s a great sign for the future.

Youth all over your program. A bright future. Enjoy the Win and hopefully your kids played through healthy. We’ll see you in Baton Rouge.

Seriously…congrats. You whipped our asses.
