We lost our all American kicker, so not great. Looks like a torn ACL.

They do get meaningless pre-season games to evaluate talent and get set for the season.
I am honestly surprised more college teams don't burn one of their cupcakes in week 1 as a de facto scrimmage
Most P5 schools want 1-2 gimme games to kick off the season to help the coaches make some final decisions before the playing their conference games.
