I think it's obvious he does have input in play calling. That little power pitch is his favorite call
That thing was pretty nifty. Used it to beat UT in 2010 along with our famed "substirooskie."

Maybe not. I just know your O has blown for a while.

Is your head coach so incapable of stepping up and running the offense that he would give that job to an O-line coach? I though Chavis took care of the D.
The same thing every head coach does. He's not an offensive minded coach. He has his inputs.

What exactly does Les do?
Wins 11 games a year. Goes to the SECCG every 3 or so years, and has 2 National title appearances.

Sure, but I think he intervened more often with Stud bc Stud was obviously in over his head.
He let Jimbo do his thing. He let Crowton do his thing until it became clear that Crowton sucked.
We'll see how it plays out. Really, LSU's offense just needs to be a little less predictable in order to be more effective. I think having a legit playcaller will give us that.

It's frustrating to watch as an LSU fan I'm sure. Watching Nutt call plays was like watching an overconfident Neanderthal that can't draw paint.

In 2011 we had the top rushing offense in the conference and I think we were first or second in ppg. If we can get back to that level or balance it with more passing production and better red zone production, LSU should get a boost from not much more production then we currently get. To get to a top 30 offense, I think LSU needs to get 50 more yards a game. Better on third down, better in the red zone, and a bit more efficient pass protecting, certainly could happen.

All of this plus Mett needs to play on the road like he plays at home.

Hopefully Les gives the reins over to ole Cammy. Don't want any excuses when we beat you guys ;)

Which game was Mett's best last season?

Yeah, its difficult to think that LSU will be better on offense with a 2nd year senior QB who greatly improved in the 2nd half of the season.
Its difficult to think that our O-line that was devastated by injuries(which was patched together week by week) won't be better
It's difficult to think that our Freshmen RB won't be much improved
So, basically all of your "ingredients for improvement" are things shared by both MSU and Ole Miss as well? So, you think both of us should be drastically improved? Good to know...

You mean like we gave you the game, we outplayed you, we outcoached you? What exactly have the Ole Miss posters been saying in this and other threads like it?

One common ingredient that is missing in your equation.
You don't recruit like LSU

Well they did have a helluva class this year, I'll give them that. The RN thing kinda snowballed for them in a good way.
