Conference championships don't mean a thing in basketball, especially when your team constantly get's knocked out the first weekend. Eric will win a national championship at Arkansas very soon.

Recruits and fans watch March Madness 10x more than SECR or tournament.
I bet the Arkansas/Gonzaga or Arkansas/Duke games had the viewership of 10 SEC regular season games and nobody outside the SEC watches the SECT.
We got the #2 class from going to an Elite 8 last year. Look for us to follow that up with the 2023 class

It's the same for just about any conference tournament vs national tournament. Arkansas baseball won the SEC regular season last year and the conference tournament. They had an outstanding regular season + conference tournament, but what does everyone everyone remember about that season? Getting bounced in the Super Regional. That defined the season. It's the same in basketball. Auburn had a great regular season and flopped in the tournament, and Tennessee had a good SECT and then flopped in the NCAAT.
