Questions for the board that no one knows answers to, but everyone likely has a thought or opinion on:
Why now with Thamel's story? This happened over a month ago. Did it take this long to get the info comfirmed and coaches on record? Was he hoping for something else and went with this when he didnt get the bigger scoop (we already knew investigation was ongoing, so only "new" info is the exchange w/ chiz & ncaa)? Or is this the tease piece that often drops before a series of articles that take longer to get attorneys to approve?
(before I get a tinfoil label for last question let me say that I worked in media for 8 years before starting own buiness 2 yrs ago. I know the process. I also know my former employer was one of many who filed request for info with au that was denied)

I was concerned that you were going to state that we should be very, very, very, VERY worried...

More than likely they are waiting to see if they can get any crumbs from the FBI. I believe the FBI is still investigating the crooked politicians in Alabama and the NCAA is more than likely looking to see if anything more turns up since their powers(NCAA)of enforcement are limited.

You've already stated that no one knows the answer, so you're aren't going to consider any response as valid.
Why ask for opinions?
When I analyze your multiple choices, the only one that is capable of being said is the last one.
You're insinuating some bigger piece is about to drop from Pete Thamel.

Some have speculated that it's still open because they've uncovered something connected to Miss State.
Look, if any Mississippi State boosters tried to orchestrate a pay for play, we will be punished, and will deserve it.
Your comment is just funny though. Do you really believe that if we had come up with the 180k, and offered it to the Newtons, that Cam wouldn't have been playing at Mississippi State last year?

Why the frick can people not read on this site?
Did I posit anything about Miss State?
Did I say, "Miss State is being investigated and not Auburn"?
Anywhere?
Being an English teacher, it really saddens me to see that I'm doing a shitty job teaching America how to read. Every time I get on this website, I feel the need to rewrite my entire curriculum because obviously reading comprehension needs an overhaul.

CORRECT! That's what most fail to consider.

Still nothing? It sure is taking a lot of time for the NCAA to close the case on something Auburn fans claim did not happen. If there was absolutely nothing here, the NCAA would have closed this case a long time ago to focus on OSU and UNC. This is possibly the biggest case the NCAA has dealt with in college football since SMU. They are going to take their sweet arse time getting their facts straight making sure they do this correctly.
And STILL no PLOI after nine months plus of the most unprecedented scrutiny a university has seen from the NCAA, media, bloggers, etc.
Take their sweet time my arse. If they had enough for a PLOI you can bet your sweet arse M. Emmert would have walked that shite into AU himself by now.
Until a PLOI is issued I have to believe they got jack shite!

Be thinking of a new avatar and Sig pick, cause they don't waste that much time down there and come back with nothing...

This whole thing looks stupid to me. How can the NCAA investigaton still be going on when they ruled on this back in November. Wouldn't that make them look stupid that they made a QUICK decision on something, and it turned out that they should have ruled differently, and would have if they had taken the proper amount of time to make a decision. As they say "haste makes waste". A lot of us would like to think that this makes Auburn look bad, and that they should be scared, but bottom line is, it makes the NCAA look like they don't know what they're doing.
It looks like it just depends on their mood as to how they respond, and people say women are moody.
