rbs with game experience is overrated as frick. LSU was down to freshman in 03 and managed just fine running the ball.

Added to rational Pig list. It's lonely place to be but only the elite are present there.

Yes there is, the list is indeed small but it's real.

I think you let Sao, Latarian and a few others fool you. They only believe 51% of what they say and like to get a rise out of the easy targets.

Not sure whether to take this as a compliment or insult. Coming from you it could probably go either way.

Man. This really is a crappy situation for both Miles Davis and the fans of the Hogs....
I certainly hope the kid is going to be okay. He's a real talent that has a great chance at the next level.
I'm a Tiger fan who's keeping MD in my prayers that he makes a speedy recovery....I hate to see such a talented guy go down to injury like this.

Thread title should give it away if it's been posted or not.

It is not a massive blow to the teams "chances". DJ isn't chopped liver.

It is a significant loss, there is no denying that. Davis was a Heisman candidate, captain, and the returning SEC leader in rushing yards for running backs.

You cannot replace Knile Davis, period. What we can do though, is hopefully get production from Wingo & Johnson that can equal the yards Knile would have gotten.

DJ is a proven runner against some stout defenses. Wingo still needs to prove he can be an SEC back.

If 9-3 and 7-5 are "fine" for Arky and AU respectively, then yes, they'll be fine.

They've been working on his north-south running/thinking like a big back. He'll be good if he stops trying to run like a scat back.

How much game experience did BCS mvp Dyer have a year ago?

I am not trying to argue with you here, but we see it every year where a new RB emerges from teams in our conference. Last year, it was Knile Davis, Michael Dyer, Marcus Lattimore, etc.

not really it doesn't happen often but proof that its not needed. Most coaches aren't really willing to run freshmen over the vet guys so unless you have injuries rack up you dont see it.

im sure teams have done it since and survived just fine without game exp backs.

He also isn't nearly as talented as KD

Knile Davis has been our best RB since fall camp 2010. We can get decent production out of the running game with Wingo and DJ but this is a serious blow.

IMO DJ is the best of the 2 back-ups and will really fight for extra yards as opposed to what Wingo has shown in the past. Word out of spring and fall camp is that Wingo has really concentrated on running between the tackles and hitting the hole full speed.....we'll see. He is a big dude with serious wheels and it would be awesome to see him break in to the secondary a bunch this season.
