I'm not too worried about it. I pop over there from time to time to say hey. Thanks for the heads up though.

You know stats are good, but I think you have to know how each game went before you can't conclude anything.

A lot of QBs run up great stats when they are behind and trying to catch up and the opposing defense is playing bend but don't break.

A lot of QBs have great stats because the running game is so successful that it leaves the passing game wide open.

A lot of QBs have great stats because they play in a west coast type offense and they are very good at picking out who they can hit with a pass 5 yards down field.

I would look at how good is QB at hitting the 3rd and long pass when everybody knows its a passing down (or even being smart enough to audible into a screen or draw).

I would suspect that if you could derive this kind of info on McCarron you would find he would still rate very high.

If I could find the stats somewhere it'd be nice, but I do know Bama led (I think they tied with another team, or they were second, I don't remember) the nation in number of scoring drives that went 90+ yards.

Eta : It may have been all TDs in the stat I'm thinking of, I don't remember.

Yeah, I think this is a big deal and am not surprised. A lot teams who get a holding penalty on 3rd down and then face 3rd and 14 might as well just go ahead and punt.

McCarron has a brain and seems to know what to do. You guys are fortunate to have him.
