I have no idea what ultimately ends up happening here, but I have to commend Ole Miss for very swiftly positioning themselves to not be caught flat-footed in this tenuous situation. This is the kind of thing that would have caught former LSU AD Joe Alleva and former President F. King Alexander completely off guard and would have precipitated an absolute circus of incompetent administration. Obviously I want Kiffin to leave and come to LSU, but I can really respect the way Ole Miss brass has handled everything. This situation sucks and instead of crying about it they are preparing for it.

Note: I do not believe Ole Miss leaked the "ultimatum" thing. I think it was leaked by Kiffin/Sexton. You HAVE to set some kind of timeline in this mess to avoid a potential total collapse in January and it was absolutely the right move by their AD.

I 100% believe it was something put out there by the Sexton camp to try to save face. Lane has worked hard on rehabilitating his image/reputation and the national media right now are starting to hammer on Lane as being the "same old Lane we knew he was" with what is going on. However this plays out (he stays or he goes), all of the effort to rebrand his reputation has taken a huge hit. Is he gonna be the coach that abandoned a team on a course to the playoff, is he gonna be coach that allowed his ego to cause distractions that causes his team to lose focus and miss the playoffs, etc....

It’s a tough spot for them. I feel like he’s trolling for more money. Plus kiffin is kiffin
