Why? Colorado is a good school, good conference, near a large city and a great location. The right coach can make them relevant easier than at Nebraska.

Colorado doesn't have the admin support or money to keep up with Nebraska. They got out bid for an assistant coach that went to UT and Tucker who went to MSU and got a larger pool of money than Colorado would even think about. Nebraska is willing to spend the money to get it done. Colorado doesn't give to flips if they suck at a sport.

Not nearly enough in-state talent to make them top tier. You have to recruit California along with about 75 other schools. They don't play in Texas anymore so that pipeline is not what it used to be. They and Nebraska are stuck in the same situation, not much talent within 300 miles of campus.

It's also 1000 miles from where Bielema would have to recruit. There is basically zero football talent in the state.
