Oregon has been in charge of the Pac-10-12 for the better part of the last decade+.

f anything it's the other way around, Oregon is the new kid on the block.

USC will be back to running the PAC again, just like they always have.

This guy gets it.

USC has won the Pac 12 (and its predecessor Pac 10) 38 times, twice more than the next closest team - UCLA with 17.

2000s - 7
1990s - 2
1980s - 3
1970s - 6

There's no guarantee you will hire a coach as good as Miles.

One of my fears is that we hire a Les Miles clone. A guy who looks great on paper but just can't seem to finish. A guy who sticks around longer then he should. I think Miles is a good to great coach, but I don't think he is as talented a coach as his numbers make him seem.

USC won seven Pac 10/12 championships in the 2000s, in addition to two national championships.

Oregon has won 6 Pac 10/12 championships since 2000, and has shat the bed on the national stage.

Certainly, it's a great time to be an Oregon Duck. However, USC has far more money, resources, allure, etc. to use to their advantage.

USC's struggles of late is similar to Alabama's wander through the wilderness post-Stallings - we all knew they'd eventually become the top dawg again.

You could do an awful lot worse. Would you rather hire a Will Muschamp?

If I ever get to the point of "fearing" that LSU hires a coach that has done as much as Miles has, I should just quit being a fan.

I think Les has been bailed out time-and-time again by his ridiculously talented roster.

A potted plant could win ten games per season in Baton Rouge.

I really wish this were true.

Miles is a very good coach, who will never get the respect he deserves because of who he replaced.

Whoever Bama hires will be given the keys to a top 3 (at least) program in the country. Expectations will be high. So will I. The Coach will either thrive under these conditions, or we'll just have to find someone who can. It took a lot of years to find Bryant's replacement. Hopefully it won't take as long this time. Namaste'.

So you have Boise State and Louisville in your rankings, which are shite, but not:

1) Ole Miss
2) North Carolina
3) Virginia Tech
4) Kansas State
5) Oklahoma State
6) Mississippi State

Right.

Untapped. If any state is untapped it's MS. I'm not running MO down, it just doesn't produce the number of athletes as the southern states do. But you can make an argument for O-lineman maybe. Different interests, different culture, but I respect Mizzou's program. There are differences, however.

Why is Florida State always so high on these lists?
I've got nothing at all against em--they're a great program--but how is a job at FSU any better than one at Georgia, Notre Dame, or South Carolina?
Again, they're all great gigs.
Ranking em is like choosing the best slice of free pizza from the box.

Wow. Dumb statement is dumb. Every coach gets bailed out by talent. Not to mention Les recruited that talent and the ones he didnt recruit, he hired the coach that did.

You don't think Saban has been bailed out by having the best talent? He's made some pretty bone headed decisions in recent past too.

The talented roster is because of Miles as well.

The blueprint for success has been laid down in Baton Rouge: (1) keep the Louisiana kids in-state; (2) play physical, "old school" football and let your superior athleticism win more times than not.

If your next coach is a HUNH guy, y'all will revisit the despair you felt throughout the entire 1990s.

Oh the horror that the ATM cult is ahead of Auburn on some list. I guess we will have to settle for winning more games and championships on the field.
