How so? I don't really believe that they're too expensive for small programs or that the schools would lose too much from bat companies. Unless baseball budgets are just tighter than I thought...
You go through so many of them between games and practice. There is a huge price spike in wooden bats. The average MLB player uses ~120 bats per season.

Go to wood would be better than BBCOR, sport would get more respect
Juiced up baseball is coming though

100000% yes, new bats suck, I dont want to watch MLB games with less talent.

They are going to a pro baseball though soon supposedly, probably not this year but maybe next. Actually will fly further.

The medium was 3 years ago, which was perfect.

Just about. I still preferred a little more spring, but they were pretty good then. And I'll take the gorilla ball bats over the present shite any day.

Yey. If I'm not going to watch the best of the best competing, it should at least be as entertaining as possible.
Oh let me guess, you're also one that prefers a good defensive football game that ends 12-10 or something, right? Not that there's anything wrong with that in itself, but you can't go double standard on baseball and want a bunch of scoring.

$, just $. Bat companies have NCAA right where they want them and they are not willing to change. Pour millions into adversing the latest and greatest poly-metal chambered bat that every kid wants to have Dad buy for him. Televised games, especially Super Reg and CWS are 3 hour commercials. Once upon a time is was cost savings but now you can get a few really good ash bats for the price of one poly-metal.

The alernative to college baseball's version of slow pitch softball is to restrict the flight of the ball - actually softball did that in the name of safety.

Interestingly HS showcase and for college players summer leagues use wood to give scouts better idea of who the real hitters are.

90's bats + no more PED testing, but the pitcher has to wear a helmet

Many top programs practice with wood anyway, It is much better method of training hitters - wood not as forgiving as metals. Sweet spot is spot, not 75% of barrell.

Good point. I figured the bat companies could just stick their logo on wood, but having the players use the same bats kids can buy is probably alot more effective.

Really? You've been competitive for how long? Post Tanner will be interesting - ask MissSt, LSU (they are one of the rare programs that recovered), ASU and USC. Texas and Miami are the only exceptions but even then, Mo has had nowhere near Fraz's success.

We've been pretty damn good since the '70s. Tanner isn't even our all time wins leader.

I don't think we are going to miss a beat with Coach Holbrook. He was the best assistant in college baseball before we promoted him.

what has Bama done?

and you seem to be the exception to Bama fans not knowing anything about baseball

Use hot bats make the pitcher wear a helmet and make him pitch in only a catchers cup.
