I don't care how much money A&M has, no one is paying his nearly $100 million buyout this year.

I think Jimbo would have to go 6-6 to be fired
He could go 4-8 and not get fired. Mainly due to the buyout. But also because even Aggie would find it hilarious that he "flipped the script".

Northwestern should not fire a guy that makes them actually competitive
They were 3-9 in 2019 and in 2021. If he doesn't do any better than that this year, that would be why he'd be on the hot seat. His teams have just not been as good as they were prior.
David Cutcliff is a pretty decent comp being at a small private school that's never been a consistently good football program. Cutcliff went to bowl games in 6 of 7 seasons, is Duke's all-time wins leader, and also won a division title there. He was fired (or rather agreed to resign) after going 5-7, 2-9, 3-9
Regardless, I didn't say I thought he should be on the hot seat. You asked why he would be on the hot seat. I gave you a reason why

some of these are always so silly. 1st and 2nd year head coaches, especially some of them being complete trash can rebuilds, are not on the hot seat. Neither is Jimbo, for that matter, after just signing a fully guaranteed 4 year extension with a raise less than a year ago. I don't care how much money A&M has, no one is paying his nearly $100 million buyout this year.
Also Pat Fitzgerald being on there is beyond stupid
Same for Lea
