I really don’t get or agree with the “Petrino (or any coach) didn’t beat Auburn or State so he can’t get the job”. My question would be was he a good enough coach before those games to get the job? If he was then he still is. If he wasn’t then winning those games doesn’t make him good enough either.

I don’t want Petrino but he has options. UCLA likely

No.
He has to earn it just like anyone else.
No one expected him to beat Tennessee and A&M.
But his offense lost both the Auburn and State games.
It can't be all blamed on Pittman.
