LSU hadn’t beaten Alabama since 2012 until this year; was the first team to win 2 BCS championships; was the first 2 loss team to win a BCS championship; and was the first two loss national champion in many years. This is the first year LSU has been in the CFB. LSU has its first Heisman since 1959. LSU has broken multiple offensive records this year. So that something hasn’t occurred before because of random chance really is not a significant factor, but is of minor interest. Certainly it is not a valid predictor. LSU has plenty of firsts, so hopefully this will be just another first.

It's definitely the two most complete teams.

Ohio State vs Clemson is a Goliath vs David game.

Clemson doesn't have much money compared to Ohio State.

OSU also has the advantage of being the only viable football program in a high population state.
