Dude was reasonably funny and smart at one point but he's become a fricking joke.

Clay Travis is a caricature now. He crafted this character because it sells.

Yep. And he occupied a spot in the sports/culture arena that I really liked listening to. He and Chris Vernon were great together. He didn't tie himself to some obnoxious viewpoint and make arguments based on that viewpoint.
Now he is literally the exact opposite of that. Like you said, I don't think he believes half the stuff he says.
