He breached his contract. He’d be wasting money.

Lol. Ok. It’s in the report from the firm they hired.

Kris Low is an idiot. Kiffin buyout back up to 12M so add that to the 12M they owe Pruitt and then what they have to pay assistants and new coaches and they couldn't even afford Kiffin.
12 million is Kiffin's buyout if they fire him without cause. Not sure his buyout is the same if he leaves on his own. I believe they're also firing Pruitt for cause and not paying his buyout

I mean the chancellor said it live on tv. They won’t be paying it. If he wants to fight it and bankrupt himself in the process as well as get
blackballed then good for him.
He also admitted to lack of institutional control and level 1 violations on live TV but here you are thinking a self imposed bowl ban will call off the dogs

This response has nothing to do with whether or not UT pays Pruitt's buyout unless you're agreeing LOIC is a ground for UT to avoid having to pay it

It will - everyone was proactively fired before the NCAA even got halfway into the investigation. The investigation was a month under way before the NCAA even called UT.
If you want to look at schools facing legit sanctions look no further than those in the FBI probe who have held on to coaches.

This isn’t 1980 anymore. Look what happened to Ole Miss.

Pruitt will absolutely sue. Even Baylor had to come back and settle with Briles.

Who cares, he’s not winning and will blackball himself.

Posted on 1/18/21 at 5:33 pm to KellerChrystFan
USC is about as bad as sanctions get and even that punishment is way harsher than the NCAA is willing to dish out anymore.

Of course he'll sue. Then, they'll negotiate for years and Pruitt will get paid a small fraction of his $12 million buyout to avoid litigation costs.... and then he'll pay 1/3 of that to his attorney.

He should’ve negotiated his buyout a month ago for 3 million.

And they will settle for probably 1/2 or 2/3 of the buyout.

Way less. The discovery phase would ruin Pruitt’s career. He’d be an idiot to push it too far. Guys with far less shite going on have settled for worse.

So he would leave Ole Miss after 1 year, to return to a team he left after 1 year 12 years ago.
Wonder where he goes after another year in Tennessee.
