Chiziks defense slammed the door on Bama and has given Au the #10 rush defense in the nation.

CGM has nothing to do with that.

Well since Chizik was the one smart enough to put the staff together and it is his blueprint of building this team up. I will stick with Chizik.

The joke is on all of you haters because you all laughed at Chiz to begin with and said the HS coach wouldn't last in the SEC because he was just gimmicky. Now you all can't wait till he leaves or hopes he comes to your school hahahaha. So I would say Chizik is pretty damn smart.

Of course it's Chizik's D now, but when it sucks, it's all Ted Roof's fault.

GM couldn't do any worse with the above average talent on D...

All you fellow aubs, why would you rather keep chizik? Gus has broken pretty much every offensive record at auburn in 2 years. The man is an offensive genius. Yea, chiz got him here, but doesn't mean he isn't the better coach. With the players we could get if Gus was HC, and him have total control of the offense, we could be a juggernaut for years to come. Without malzahn, we are 08 auburn with Tony franklin. Idk about y'all, but I don't want that shite.

I just hope Auburn fans aren't hanging there hopes on "Oh Gus will just teach Trooper or Luper to run the offense".
I doubt anyone believes that. If he taught people how to run his system, his inherent value would diminish and he would hurt himself in the long run.

Now can the assistants pick up pointers from him along the way? Yes. ANd if they do, that puts them in a position to be able to adapt quickly to a new OC that runs a similar system, as opposed to Tubbs bringing in a spread guru and having position coaches that are used to more traditional schemes trying (or not) to adapt to a new philosophy.

You know Malzahn becoming HC will not happen while Chizik is in place...It won't happen...So why even argue a reason for it...

Trust me, I've had tons of Auburn fans tell me that. It was even a topic back in the preseason here.

That's my point, why give away whay makes you special? They could just hire the much cheaper assistant instead.

I could totally see it if he was in his 60s, going on his last job, but certainly not now...

That Auburn D is feared. They held McElroy to only slightly over 300 yards passing in one half.

Only 6 passes thrown in the 2nd half after a 300 yard first half...
