Won the West in a clearly down year. However, winning the West is still winning it.

1. The sec west was definitely down
2. They still had a pretty solid team last year, and we make fun of them for losing to Texas A&M but Texas A&M has been devastated by injuries all year, and had the youngest offense and defense in the entire league. By the time they got to the LSU game, it was finally starting to come together and we were getting a lot of the injured players back. The A&M team that they lost to was dramatically better than the team they were struggling earlier in the season.

Remember when McElwain won the east with Florida and Florida fans thought they were building something? It’s like that.
Only it will be a lot better for fans that are not LSU fans.

They didn't look like the typical Saban team.

Which raises the question, how shitty was Bama last year? Answer: very. Very shitty

BK is good at playing in the citrus bowl.

Little bit of both. FSU is a good team but our team looked lackluster after the half. However FSU would’ve beaten every team in the west IMO. Have fun guarding Coleman/Wilson/Travis. Argue with a wall

They barely beat a down Alabama team in overtime.
Alabama was 2 plays from being undefeated; a defensive stop against LSU, and a missed FG against Tennessee. They beat a Top 10 team in the Sugar Bowl by 25. They had 3 guys drafted in the first round (#1 overall pick Bryce Young was the returning Heisman Trophy winner, #3 overall pick Will Anderson Jr was coming off a year where he won just about every defensive award). They had 10 guys drafted overall.
They were "down" only if you use the standard that they should be 15-0 national champs.
