Texas conference champ against #19

This matters.

UGA win way more valuable

This is the definition of lunacy. There is only 1 determining factor that matters with Alabama and Texas. Who the frick won the head to head?

You look at all the hypotheticals like SOS and ranked wins and blah blah blah when they DONT have a head to head game.

But guess what bama tards? Ya lost at home. Get over it.

Typical alabama trying to back their way in to the playoffs. Every fricking year. This is why you are hated so much.

I gotta admit reading the parenthetical part I’d have to agree you have a point.

Two thoughts on this. First, as another poster eloquently pointed out, the key word is “considering”. At the end of the day, they are going to do what they are going to do.

Second, it may be semantics, but is “margin of loss” different than “margin of victory”? The latter may be specially mentioned to disincentivize running up the score (something over which the victor has control versus margin of loss over which the loser is essentially helpless to control).

All that said, if I were in your position, I’d be pissed too.

This in no way alters my opinion however that Mizzou would beat Ole Miss head to head.

Wrong, if Alabama beats GA and Texas bets OSU, they beat Texas on the two most important criteria. They will jump Texas. Head-to-head (especially from game one of the season) is the least important point they will consider, per the committee’s own rules. So Alabama will jump Texas, loser of WA-OR, Ohio State, and Georgia. Alabama wins, they’re in, regardless of what happens in any other game.

Totally agree.

Honestly I'm not really pissed. It would be different had it costed us a shot at the playoffs. I can't go regardless of the location but if I was planning on it.....I'd much rather go to Orlando than Dallas. There's nothing really(to me) redeeming about Dallas. The Citrus will likely be a much better matchup against Iowa and should become a much better recruiting opportunity than possibly getting beaten by Texas.

Getting a NY6 invite is a hell of an opportunity to brag but we got our dicks kicked in the last time.

I'm happy with either outcome.

Focus Georgia, imo.

This should be the philosophy that our team takes, and it appears that they are. We will see Saturday.

But FANS, I don't think this matters. Part of the enjoyment of being a fan is speculation... its a bit of a misnomer that fans need to adopt the same mentality as our team. A mentality which, if we are being honest, Saban made popular.

Funny you should say that b/c I am going. I’m hearing talk of Peach as well. I agree Orlando beats Atlanta or Dallas but with the lack of success we’ve had these last 9 years or so, I will graciously put my interests aside and hope for a NY6 invite.

They did, and certainly deserve that metric as a tiebreaker, but that's actually not the case at all.

In 2021, Alabama and Georgia had identical records, with Alabama claiming the head-to-head — both teams got in.

Both Michigan and Ohio State got in last season, despite playing each other about a month prior.

In other words, metrics like head-to-head have been used to sort ranks, but aren't necessarily exclusionary when it comes to the CFP.

Did you even read the OP?

Oh for sure go for the experience. Seeing Jerryworld in person is worth it. I went for the last old Cotton bowl and the next year for the first one in the new stadium. Was a wild difference. I actually got to go onto the field 4-5 hours before the game in Jerry World. I couldn't comprehend just how tall that building is from field level.

Hope your trip is enjoyable
