Well, to each his own then. I'll bet you'll be a big fan of the Big East champ too, huh?

Yeah, OSU's schedule was brutal.......... LSU then........... a bunch of teams that would flop in the SEC......... then Oklahoma who they'll lose to.

This is the only way Bama becomes a lock, but writing off Oklahoma State as a loser right now would be a mistake.

Bowl Eligible Teams Beaten by Oklahoma State
UL-Lafayette (8-4) (Sun Belt)
Tulsa (8-4) (C-USA)
Texas A&M (6-6) (Big 12)
Texas (7-4) (Big 12)
Mizzou (7-5) (Big 12)
Baylor (8-3) (Big 12)
Kansas State (9-2) (Big 12)

In addition, they lost to bowl eligible Iowa State (6-5) (Big 12) in 3OT on the road. If they beat Oklahoma (9-2), then Oklahoma State will have beaten 8 bowl eligible teams and lost to 1. This would also make Oklahoma State conference champions.

I'll repost since i got ignored once in this thread and in another thread.

Again, if OSU wins next weekend. sell me on Bama having the better resume and being more deserving of the title shot.

Sorry, LOUISIANA, not LSU. Forgot I wasn't looking at Oregon for a minute.

Then, Kansas, Arizona, Baylor, Tulsa, A&M, Texas, Missouri, KSU, Tex Tech, Iowa State, and Oklahoma. Wheeew, what a resume.

Bowl Eligible Teams Beaten by Alabama
Penn State (9-3) (Big 10)
Arkansas (10-2) (SEC)
Florida (6-6) (SEC)
Vanderbilt (6-6) (SEC)
Mississippi State (6-6) (SEC)
Auburn (7-5) (SEC)

They lost to bowl eligible LSU (12-0) (SEC) in OT at home. By comparison, Bama has only beaten 6 bowl eligible teams and lost to 1.

In case you missed it,

Bowl Eligible Teams Beaten by Oklahoma State
UL-Lafayette (8-4) (Sun Belt)
Tulsa (8-4) (C-USA)
Texas A&M (6-6) (Big 12)
Texas (7-4) (Big 12)

Baylor (8-3) (Big 12)
Kansas State (9-2) (Big 12)

Is there any wonder why the Big 12 is getting so much love in the computers right now? You mean to tell me that Alabama would have a better resume than Oklahoma State if Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma? They will have beaten 8 bowl eligible teams compared to only 6 beaten by Alabama. In addition, Oklahoma State would be a conference champion. How would there be a comparison?

Also, they would have 2 wins over top-10 teams.

I live in Huntsville and 95% of the Bana fans i have talked to say if they had won that game on Nov 5, they would not want a rematch. So STFU about the scared crap. I really don't care if we beat ya'll 2 times in one season just make it better for next season when we beat Bama AGAIN that will make 4 in a row.

Geaux Tigers.

I agree, and I don't expect any of them to read the article, but Cecil succinctly shoots down all their whiney complaints.

I'll state it quite succinctly: you and Cecil are absolutely wrong. Cecil's argument is based on the false premise that the purpose of the BCS is to match the two best teams. I posted a link to the BCS website... there is no such stated purpose. The actual stated purpose is to match the two highest ranked teams, and there's no obligation anywhere for a voter to rank the two best teams highest.

It's interesting. until this year, I always thought the 2 best teams were determined objectively by determining which 2 teams had the best resume and had earned a spot in the title game.

seems like we're just skipping straight over alot of potential discussion and objective comparisons and going straight to comparing the one loss or the "we're one of the top 2 teams and you know it" argument.

Better is a subjective term for teams with similar records that haven't played.

If you're curious, look at what LSU has done.

Bowl Eligible Teams Beaten by LSU
Oregon (10-2) (Pac-12)
Mississippi State (6-6) (SEC)
West Virginia (8-3) (Big East)
Florida (6-6) (SEC)
Auburn (7-5) (SEC)
Alabama (11-1) (SEC)
Western Kentucky (7-5) (Sun Belt)
Arkansas (10-2) (SEC)

If LSU beats Georgia, they will have beaten nine bowl eligible teams. I do agree that LSU is being left out of a lot of this discussion unless the topic turns to rematch. I think people have already accepted that LSU is in the title game unless something really bad happens. Do those same arguments against lacking a conference championship apply to LSU? They certainly would and LSU losing would create a lot of chaos in the BCS.

I don't know one single scared LSU fan. In fact, the previous game just gave us confidence. The author and the OP are ignorant fools perpetuating a stereotype by even writing/posting this stuff.

It's laughable how far this fan base has fallen to resort to myths such as this to make themselves feel more relevant. Starting to remind me of Arkansas fans.
