Can anyone give an unbiased view/scouting report on Miss State?

Hadn't had a chance at all to watch them this season. Just know that their offense is good. Solid running back, and of course Dak at QB. #4 is a stud at receiver, and #1 is also a mismatch waiting to happen. Not enough info on the O-line with the center suspended.
Based on defensive stats, it seems their secondary is not that good. Seeing how most people say that the d-line is very big and athletic and able to get after the passer. I just know that Chris Jones? is very very good and that he can play both tackle and end? But yeah no idea about their secondary or linebackers. Any info would be appreciated.

Outside of the LSU game, have they been on TV much? I honestly don't know, but if not then the only group that will have a lot of experience watching them will by State fans. Not sure how many will be able to give an unbiased scouting report, though I'm sure some can.

Front seven is as good as anyone.
The game will probably come down to how state defends the pass. The secondary lost a safety from last year and got one back from injury so they shouldn't be worse than last year, which was a pretty solid secondary. Many of the secondary issues were due to playing a shitload of people against cupcakes. Even when lsu had success, we had a lot of subs in.
I'm not sure what to think about them really. But they aren't as bad as people want to think. How they perform will probably decide the game. We are great at stopping the run. We will be able to move the ball and a&m will be too. I expect a high scoring and highly entertaining game.
Chris Jones has not been the best d lineman. Thats preston smith. D lineman of the week for 3 straight weeks.
Week 4 offensive lineman of the week is playing center. All of our lineman except the left tackle have prepared at multiple positions.however we cannot really afford an injury there with Day out for this week.

Thanks for the info!
Im looking forward to an entertaining game as well. It took 5 Manziel TD passes to win last year( 3 picks though haha). Hopefully our defense can continue to show improvement this week.

We have a mobile QB that will make Rice's QB look like Troy Aikman when it comes to mobility
We have a solid defense and a good defensive front
We have momentum
We might not be explosive on offense and won't do well playing catchup

Here's a good breakdown offensively.

Sorry, didn't see it posted above. Still a good breakdown.

they looked really good against us for most of the game but that isn't saying much.
thought their secondary was suspect. Our WR's dropped some passes that could have been some good gains and one of the drops may have even been a TD.
what really surprised me was that they dropped a lot of interceptions. Our QB only had 1 INT but it should have been more like 4 INT's.
but their QB is legit as frick.
he'll carve up your D probably.

A&M's last score in that game came with 10:52 remaining to make it 51-27.
If we have a 24 point lead with 10:52 to go, we will do what we did against South Carolina and sit on the ball.
Mississippi State had 299 yards rushing on 43 carries a year ago. If ARKANSAS couldn't do that this year, you can be damn sure Mississippi State won't.

All the Aggies have to do is put 8 in the box and force Dak to pass. He will eventually screw up. I think they will move the ball well between the 20's and be forced to kick field goals. Their defensive scheme will not do well against our Offense. We play well on the road. We also play our best when doubted.

Picture SMU but with a really good QB

Doubtful, but I'll try.
This is the best team they've had in the Mullen era. Dak is a very good QB who has matured to the point that his football iq is nearing his football ability. They have a solid o-line and a very good running game. Their receivers appear to be better as a group than they've had in some time.
On D they've got a very, very good D-line. Their backers are above average. Their defensive backfield is the weakness of their D - not saying they are bad, but their front seven is better.
They've got 5 real games left (A&M, AU, Arky, Bama, Ole Miss). If they go 3-2 in those games they may be the best MSU team of all time. All that said, they are still likely a 3 loss team.

please, please do this. Our WR corps is as deep and talented as it has ever been. Jameon has found his stride the past 2 weeks and De'Runya Wilson is a size mismatch for any CB.
and not to mention you did that against Arky and they still ran all over you

Nah. We did that in the 2nd half and the running stopped.

MSU has a legit baller at QB.
Beniquez Brown is a very good LB with NFL potential.
Preston Smith is kicking a lot of arse on the DL.
DeRunnya Wilson is a playmaker at WR; big body, good hands, hard to tackle. Jameon Lewis is his jitterbug counterpart.
Josh Robinson is a fast and powerful runner who can gash your D.
Chris Jones is another DL with big potential.
Overall i'd say:
DL: A-
LB: B
Secondary: B-
OL: C+
QB: A
RB: B
WR: B+
They are a good solid team. It should be a close game.
For comparison I'll grade aTm:
DL: B (would've been a C without emergence of Garrett)
LB: C
Secondary: C+
OL: B+
QB: A-
RB: B+
WR: A
