He was given a ribbon for bravely defending himself or his honor against the 90 pound girl that was on the Tennessee field after the game that, by Bama accounts, called him a name that only he heard but she would have to have shouted because of the celebration going on on the field with 50,000 other fans and Dixieland Delight blaring.

Good. Maybe if Burton had actually punched her, programs would take the safety of their students, players, and coaches more seriously and take further measures to prevent such sophomoric nonsense from happening.

You do understand that when the fans entered the field THERE WAS NO GAME BEING PLAYED RIGHT? I mean that fact isn’t lost on you right? This wasn’t a random fan running out in the middle of the game. This was a post game celebration. If anything there was no reason for Burton to be on the field. He was not part of the last play of the game but was aimlessly walking around in the middle, isolated, of a Tennessee celebration.

Perhaps we shouldn't be too hard on Burton for exhibiting out of control behavior. Look who his role model is. Temper flare ups seem to go hand in hand with Alabama football.

Dude is charmin soft. But she did recoil from the hit. But what would have her do? Tennessee girls are not trashy dunk middle age Bama fans. She wasn’t going to go flying off the top rope throwing hands. She removed herself from the threat.
