Not to be lost in this discussion is that AJ McCarron was promoted to the Bengal’s permanent roster and is now Browning’s backup. Thought the dude was finished when he was playing minor league ball last year. AJ has made a pretty damn good living as a backup for 10 years in the league. Best job in pro sports.

AJ is about as popular a backup QB option as I can remember us having in Cincinnati. Not sure what the current iteration of AJ is about, but when Dalton was our QB there were ALOT of Bengals fans who wanted AJ under center.

Yep. McCarron saw some significant play time as Dalton's backup and performed very well.

Not sure if he's still at that level, but I hope so.

The NCAA football committee probably wouldn’t have gave Browning a chance. Probably thought the Bengals couldn’t win with him.
