The UGA 2012 Defense wasn't Richt's defense, it wasn't a legacy defense from Martinez.... it was Grantham's defense.
And it would have won the 2012 National Championship if it could have stopped Alabama's run game in the second half of the SECCG. Which it simply couldn't.
Still don't know if we can stop a determined and talented running game. Since we play Alabama this season, I guess we'll find out.

This is hilarious...this coming from a fan base that won't or can't even acknowledge how horribly you got your arse whipped by the only 2 ranked teams you played.
Who hasn't admitted that? The facts are what the facts are. Those facts also include, however, that Mizzou was the best team in the east overall last year. That fact some Dawg fans try to explain away with every argument in the book.

Obvious troll, but I can guarantee you that UGA will beat the piss out of Missouri again. Will Schotty do great things? Time will tell, and you can rest assured someone will dig up this thread.
Maybe. Maybe not. See, that is the arrogance of UGA fans. They guarantee shite like that while Mizzou fans acknowledge it as a tough game. What happened the last time UGA fans guaranteed they were gonna stomp Mizzou in Athens?

And who is Mizzou's OC?
Trust me. He's better than yours. Josh Henson and I think most LSU fans would acknowledge he's a good guy and so far he's been a solid OC.
Unlike Dawg fans, I can be objective though and say my concerns lie more with the new DC. Odom was a hot, young name and I'm glad he came back home. But my bigger concern is that he's going to keep going back and forth between a 4-3 and a 3-4 defense and my personal view is that when you're a jack of all trades, you are also a master of none and that won't get it done in the SEC. See Dawg fans, it is possible to be objective yet support your team and not be all doom and gloom. Or you can continue to bury your head in the sand and deny everything that people have witnessed first hand for years.

How is it like grantham? He had at least proven himself in the sec.
Grantham came from the NFL so that is the most obvious. Then when he came here, people on this very board, at least when it was dawgrant.com were very excited for him as the DC, just like Shotty.
Ah, didn't think of the 2010 preseason point of view. Our rivals better hope cbs turns out worse than grantham did.

Georgia's offense this season isn't a mystery regardless of who is calling plays this year. We are going to use a top 2 or 3 RB in the country behind a top 2 or 3 OL in the country to run it down your throat. Congratulations you figured us out. Now hang on cause I doubt there is a god damn thing your defense can do about it. I mean our TE coach just called the plays vs the 6th rated defense in the NCAA to the tune of 37-14 and said RB had 266 yards rushing.

Most information supports the idea that Uga was better than mizzou last year.

That likely didn't happen as We were down 5 of our best players, and had barely beaten ut in ot.
Besides, Guarantee's are stupid in football, yet it sure looks like you, many of the mizzou fans and auburnphan are expecting the UGA O to be Mizzou 2014 bad simply because the rams had a weak offense, which isn't very strong evidence. We will find out soon enough.

Can you?
2014 Offense ranks for Mizzou:
Scoring: 73rd
Total: 98th
Now tell me, how is that "solid" objectively?

Josh Henson's offense scored zero against Georgia at home last year.
No. No I do not trust you. But I am glad he's still your OC and that you think he's "solid".

Rams and Jets, two rosters with no playmakers.

And that's a good thing in that case and could outweigh the negatives. I can certainly see the positives of the Schotty hire. I just think that some of your UGA brethren refuse to admit to the potential negatives.
Because you and your kin seem to think he's just going to the exact same thing as in stl, call the exact same plays, and make the exact same mistakes. People learn, people adapt, and people can improve. Mark Richt is one of the best offensive minds in college football. He's not going to let CMS come in and frick it up. Trust me.

Apparently talent is irrelevant according to these guys.

Grantham is a very good DC.
I kinda agree with ya, I think he can be very good at the college level, but while at UGA, I think he did better than what most fans on here want to believe. I think his playbook was a problem while at UGA, not so sure if it is at Louisville, but you heard quiet a few dawgs talk about this. I even remember some defensive guy say that even his NFL team's playbook wasn't as big as Granthams.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 11:52 am to DawgGONIT
He gave us our worst D EVER with NFL talent and you think he did better than most UGA fans think? Shhheeeeooott.

I ignore anyone who sticks up for grantham as our dc. I thought it was just rig, but apparently our resident negadawg is on board as well.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 11:57 am to WG_Dawg
He had his faults, but Grantham was better than many Uga fans claim.
CBS is gonna have to be much worse than grantham for these mizzou guys and Phan to be correct.

It's a sign of ignorance. I should learn to just ignore those people.
