Play callers are always the most convenient scapegoats for a team sucking. It's harder to admit that your favorite players just aren't very good and fixing it might take more time than just one simple coaching change.

RED FLAG:

Schotty when hired said he would not change the terminology.

Ramsey now says he is having trouble learning the new terminology.

Full quote...

quote:

Linebacker Jordan Jenkins noticed differences in the offensive snap count during the part of practice when the two units lined up against each other. Running back Nick Chubb said the terminology is different under Schottenheimer “and it throws you off sometimes.”

Chubb thinks the offense won’t look too different under Schottenheimer.

“I think it will be the same as it always has been,” he said. “The passing game will come around. It always has and always will. It will come. They just have to get the quarterbacks going and the wideouts going and the running backs, too.

That was terminology... in March.

I really don't understand why people think Richt is just handing over the keys to the whole offense. The foundation of the offense (running the ball) and then playaction off of that is not going to change. I think the only difference you'll see is more use of the tight ends and maybe a few new formations.

"Bobo's replacement is a 10 year NFL veteran. This means UGA's offense, which still has the best RB in college football, and has averaged 38 plus points the last 3-4 years is going to suck."

See how silly that statement is

You seem really invested in us to be pulling articles from March.

Yea, with his few posts, deep research, non team specific name, and new membership, we have an obvious alter on the scene.

Two rosters with no play makers? the Jets made back to back AFC Championships with Brian Schottenheimer and guys like Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Jerricho Cotchery, LT, Shonn Greene, Thomas Jones, Danny Woodhead, Brad Smith. Also the o-line was ridiculous Nick Mangold, Damien Woody, Alan Faneca, D'Brickashaw Ferguson I mean come on I understand the defense was the teams strength but lets not say they had a depeleted roster on offense because thats far from true

Now do the Rams. That's the one mizzou fans are obsessed with.

Doesn't really matter who UGA's OC is yall are gonna give Mizzou another beat down anyways, they really think otherwise?

I wouldn't guarantee a win, but mizzou hasn't beaten many ranked teams over the past 2 years, so it wouldn't shock anyone.

Did the d have the same number of injuries? I only remember the o getting decimated.

No, it didn't. Matthews was hurt, Jhc was suspended iirc, and drew got incorrectly ejected vs vandy.

Didn't read this whole thread, but I'll say this...the day I found out Schotty was leaving the Rams for UGA was pretty fricking awesome. I'd no longer have to watch his shite offense on Sundays and Georgia fans get to watch it on Saturdays. A double win.

He's shite, yall will find out soon enough.

Why on earth would a
Rams fan expect much out of an offense led by backup qbs with average at best playmakers that have to play in the toughest division in the NFL?

You're right. I've never seen a better OC than Schotty.

You're the one getting distracted. The thread isn't about OC's. It's about Schotty and UGA.

Spare us the BS. Now you may regret posting it, but It was you who posted it nonetheless:

quote:

He's better than yours. Josh Henson so far he's been a solid OC.

Unlike Dawg fans, I can be objective though

Anyone claiming the OC of the 98th best offense in the nation is solid is far from objective.

Only basing it on past performance.

Passer rating 2014:

Dak 151
Dobbs 130
Allen 129
Towles 122
Mauk 120

Little bit of an overstatement maybe

Sure doesnt look like it. It wouldn't even take a good QB to be one of the best in the SEC.

I've avoided this thread for the most part, but I don't beleive any of us are trying to trumpet him being awesome or elite or anything liek that.

I think our main point is simply that what he did in teh NFL doesnt' mean anything as it relates to what he will do in college, that's all.

Not one Uga fan has said that, much less implied that.

Oh, I was just trying to help your brother in arms out. He seems obsessed with what people think of Schotty when it really just doesn't matter. UGA is fine whether it's him or someone else.

Possibly. Possibly not. His play calling was bizarre at best in STL. Maybe the way he calls plays does change in college. Don't know. I'll stand by my belief that the biggest thing he brings to UGA is his name and recruiting.
