Bammer math...

247Sports is? Because I count four for Alabama and five for Auburn in the 2016 and 2017 classes. Which was the timeline he was using.

Unless there's a whole lot more revealed in the future, neither Alabama nor Auburn are going be be seriously harmed by this situation.

Totally agree with you. All schools cheat, Bama and Allburn are scapegoats for all SECs. Thank you, baw.

We can keep lobbing stones, Phan. But it won't get us anywhere.

Bammer has signed 4 or 5 top 100 players in the last two years. About the same length as the FBI investigation. That is more than most teams

I can't believe StopRobot hasn't made 8 different threads asking if Avery can survive this?

Auburn and Alabama fans are having an honest, almost trolling absent, adult discussion involving basketball and possible NCAA issues.

They simply don't know how to function in that environment.

It really has been pretty amazing. We have had some legit conversations here.

Which is not an NCAA violation. It is illegal and got the staffer fired, but if he never paid Sexton or his family, then there is no NCAA issue. Why is this so hard to understand? If more evidence comes out that Kobie Baker or the advisor paid Sexton (as is the case with Persons), then yes, we have an NCAA problem.

It was literally the exact same thing, except Person allegedly spent a little of his money on momma and dem. It's hilarious that bama fans are trying really hard to differentiate the two in some drastic way.

When it comes to the issue of whether this is an NCAA issue, whether Sexton or his family was paid truly is a "drastic differentiation" from the Auburn scandal.

What? A staff member paid to steer kids to agents, isnt an NCAA violation? its a violation, the severity is in question. Now said players might not have committed a violation yet, but the staffer did.

Nothing fosters a spirit of friendship and cooperation like each of you not only having a scumbag doing the same thing at the same time, but actually doing it TOGETHER.

Again, he is not in an public office position. That has to do with elected Govt Offices.

For state charges, there absolutely is a state statute barring ANY public employee from using their public position for personal gain. Hell, teachers are not even allowed to accept gifts over $25.

(a) No public official or public employee shall use or cause to be used his or her official position or office to obtain personal gain for himself or herself, or family member of the public employee or family member of the public official, or any business with which the person is associated unless the use and gain are otherwise specifically authorized by law. Personal gain is achieved when the public official, public employee, or a family member thereof receives, obtains, exerts control over, or otherwise converts to personal use the object constituting such personal gain.

Think of it this way. Coaches, they use their position for personal gain all he time with endorsement deals and that is legal.

That is because their contract specifically states that they are allowed to seek endorsement deals as part of their compensation package.

I think it is a semantics thing. He definitely broke NCAA rules, but most Bama fans are thinking in terms of violations that impact the program because frick Kobie Baker. We all WANT him to get a lifetime show cause and arrested. We just think/hope the violation is at the individual and not program level (ala Bo Davis).

I know thats what Monti was thinking, he just didnt see the other aspect

I think this is really what happens on both accounts, sans Auburn players being ruled ineligible
