Why does every new coach at State always keep Melvin on their staffs? He has probably made it thru more staffs at the same school than any assitant ever?

he's only been around in the early-mid 90s and then for a few Crooms' years prior to being with Mullen. he's done a damn good job this year.

Mullen is a good coach. I will give him that. He has done great at State. Has them their 1st Top 25 ranking in over 10 years. That is really hard to accomplish at State.
But Mullen does not scare me. We will be just fine. Like I said, would love an Egg Bowl to mean Atlanta.

he's only been the recruiting coordinator since 2006 or so. if you're trying to say he buys players then he sure as frick didn't get his money's worth from 2006-08.

what do you expect..13 total bowl games in the history of your program...being ranked 1 time in the last 10 years.
I would say getting to 6-7 wins this year was a wise investment from 06-08

Good point. That return on investment for Robert Elliot isn't working out too well.

Last I checked Pat Patterson had been kicked off both Ole Miss' team as well as his JUCO team at EMCC last week. Thats one hell of a 5* recruit. His star rating really amounted to a lot.

Ole Miss was on top in the 90s? I didn't realize they were finishing in the polls, getting to Atlanta, winning the most games in the division over a 3-4 year stretch, winning 10 games, etc.
Good luck getting above four wins this year, Nutt's a hell of a coach.
