I still don't think that there was even a joke anywhere in there.

I think it was just pure, unadulterated dumbass.

Our capacity is 55k we had 58k for two games this year. We don't have enough demand yet for that type of stadium.

Well no shite.

This past year was the first time State has ever averaged over 50,000 a game, I think.

Call it Southern Hospitality. When we go to State, we are just going to "visit" with y'all.

I have a lot of respect for you then.

I have been through some rough years as an Alabama fan, but it's easier to go through them if there's a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

I honestly don't know how you guys, Ole Miss fans, and South Carolina fans can put up with just never having a very good team. I wish I had your dedication and patience. And I really hope Dan Mullen turns MSU into a really good team. You guys deserve it.

Coming from an Ole Miss fan? You hardly have room to talk.

Wouldn't say 9 wins is a "miracle". 4-4 in the SEC, 4 cupcake non-conference games, and a lower- to mid-level bowl win can get 9. Even Croom could have done that in 2007 if we had played some easy team instead of #6-ranked West Virginia. At this point, 9 wins would be a pretty big accomplishment for State, but I wouldn't call it a miracle.

I think that Mullen for sure will be at State in 2012. If we can just get to even a minor bowl in 2010, we'll get the funding for the stadium expansion And we'll need it, too.

What's the point? State never sells out the stadium it has, unless you're playing a team with a large fanbase, and then half the stadium is that opposing fanbase anyway. Some of the OOC games State plays would lead to a very empty stadium. I just can't see an expansion happening. It doesn't make financial sense.

You said it yourself. Pretty silly to expand when you can't sell out what you have except for games against Florida and Alabama.

Starkville, MS population: 21,869
+
Mississippi State University enrollment: 18,601
+
Mississippi State University faculty: 1,311

= 41,781

and you're talking about roughly 30,000 MORE people showing up for a game. I just don't see this happening.

Visiting fans should be factored into that.... 10,000 to 15,000 for SEC games, but I'm not sure.

I think they can make it happen.... winning is the key.... put a couple good seasons together and it'll be easier to sell.

State averaged 53,792 in 2009 during a 5-7 season. That was 97.7% of capacity.

MSU actually pulls fans in from outside the Starkville city limits. :-)
