Here's why you lose arguments, you have a decent point but don't frame it right. Gurley had a good season last year. He didn't have the best season last year.

You are absolutely right. because he was suspended and hurt.

You can be the best athlete (Gurley would certainly be in contention for that)

Now see...I would disagree on that. Gurley specialized in one sport. he was a special talent, but he specialized in one sport.

Honestly, I am being consistent in my argument. I would consider Chubb the best because of his durability. You can speculate how good Bo MIGHT have been. But in order to quantify it, you would have to have hard numbers to back it up. I've always wondered what Bo could have accomplished had he stuck to one sport. I think he was a better football player than baseball player, but he was a special talent any way you slice it.

As for my point....you said I was putting words in your mouth when I said you would not call Gurley the best back in the SEC because of his durability or ability to stay on the field. And I was right evn after you mocked me saying that.

You want to call Bo best because of what he COULD have done but did not...but you cannot say Gurley was the best back in the SEC based on what he COULD have done but did not. Hypocricy much.

I think so...but I can also understand why Auburn fans think Bo was better. Hard to imagine two talents like that coming along and at the same time...or close to the same time.

Your making an argument that doesn't make sense. It doesn't make you right, it makes you dense.

I never called Bo or Walker the best. I simply said discounting Bo because of durability is stupid, which it is. You're biased, so you can't see when someone is just refuting what is being said.

In fairness....Herschel gave a LOT of schools fits.

Really? Isn't it you who are arguing that Bo was better because he looked better and the only reason it wasn't obvious was because of his hip injury?

I would argue this, too. How can you possibly say someone is the best if they could not stay on the field? You can speculate only. There is no data to back it up. Barry Bonnell was supposed to be the second coming of Dale Murphy, but he broke a leg. After that he did very little. Would you argue that he is the GOAT because of his potential?

For the third fricking time, in the discussions I was having, we were talking about athleticism, not the "best." I'm not sure why that doesn't get through to you, but apparently no matter how many times it is said, you can't absorb it.

I'm about to leave the office so can't respond, but honestly how do you measure athleticism? If we're just posting statistics on the field that's simply data about production. Babe Ruth is considered the GOAT baseball player but I'd bet a great deal he wasn't "more athletic" than some of the guys playing today.

I love Bo. He was great, but Herschel was "The Man". Anyone who grew up in the early to mid 80's knows that Herschel was a man among boys. He just was a complete freak. Bo was great, but he didn't stand out like Herschel. Boy, that was a great time to be a teenager playing junior high then high school football and watching Herschel and then Bo. Good times.

Agreed! Bo and Herschel are above everyone else. But the OP needs to go away.

Certainly we can all agree on that?
