If Bama would have beaten that lesser team on 11/5 we still wouldn't be having these discussions.
See right there...LSU beat the lesser team on 11/5. DWI
From 1/9 until college football is no longer played Alabama 2011 National champs will always be remembered as having to play LSU twice to beat them once for the Championship.
We were better in the season you were better for 1 night.

But Tennessee outgained Bama. The Vols beat themselves.

Naw it was a fluke fumble by Ingram that kept UT in the game.
Last time Bama lost to a better team was USCe in 2010 and before that UF 08. Every other time has been an upset by a lesser team.

Brantley basically giving the game away to FSU. We held their offense to 95 yards but still lost by 2 TDs.

BCSNC game. Bama was just lucky. Had Les put pick 6 in at the start of the 4th qt it would have been all over...

Absolutely I believe it. If 2010 Alabama was better than 2010 LSU, they would have won the game.

Actually, I misread.

2010 LSU was the worse 11 team in the history if the SEC.
They struggled against the UNC JV squad. Should've lost to UT, horrible game against WVU, got into a shoot out with Ole miss, fake punt that bounced to beat a horrible UF team, Auburn and Newton ran for 400 yds, Lost to Arky. The worst offense I've ever seen at LSU. They managed to play above their heads against Bama.
2010 LSU looked similar to 2011 Michigan. Both won 11 games, but neither were very good.

The real question is, what else did LSU have to prove after beating Alabama on the road earlier in the season?

Nope LSU beat you..
and in 2009
That was the fluke...no wait it wasn't cause the ref's were fricking on the payroll

2009 Alabama barely beat a 3-4 Tennessee team and had Colt McCoy not gotten hurt, most likely would of lost the title game. The 2nd stringer managed to keep the game close. Imagine what McCoy would have done.
2011 Bama wasn't even the best team in their division in their conference. How can they be the best in the nation?
The last time Alabama had a legit national championship was 1992.
That's my Bhamdore-sy post of the day.

It's an unwritten rule that Alabama never legitimately loses games since 2008 under Nick Saban.
