Which usually begins the weekend the Gamecocks are in town, and along with the Bourbon Trail it's a great trip.

But it's not the "top spot in the South" by any stretch of the imagination.

It's another SEC destination.

There is no "top spot" in our beloved region ... it's all good.

I went to see a band (Dredg) back in 2003 at the 40 Watts Club in Athens. I was really impressed with the little bit of Athens that I saw then but I don't know how the rest of the area is.

Gainesville is too high, city is on the downhill slide. Homeless, hippies, druggies all over downtown.
UF Campus is nice, except for all the construction that constantly going on. I am in and out on gameday. Tailgate, ball game then get the hell out of town.
