7. Gainesville - Regret going both times. It's absolutely awful and has zero redeeming qualities other than saying you've been to The Swamp.

*Ive not been to a night Bama, Auburn, Georgia game.
Most Georgia fans haven't been to a UGA night game either.
We are either playing a noon cupcake, or we get the CBS 3:30 game when we play someone good.
Maybe WG Dawg can chime in with stats. But it's crazy how few night games UGA gets at home.

If OU gets scheduled to play Kentucky in the last 3 weeks of October you can go wager a few sheckles at Keenland on the ponies. We used to head up a day early so we could go to the track on Friday and not go back home until Monday so we could do Sunday afternoon as well. Georgia's game with UK was always during the race season when I was coming up. Wish it still was.
Athens is just simply one of the greatest college towns in America. North Campus is the old college that originated in the early to mid 1800s. Even better, Athens is loaded with good restarants, bars, and clubs. Fans of the visiting teams are generally treated well. Only downside is that the Athens cops are deadly on public intoxication. It's easy money for them.

False. If you mean open containers, you are correct. But just being drunk walking from one place to another, you are very incorrect.
Open containers on campus, with campus police jurisdiction, they don't give a shite about open containers on game day. As long as you aren't acting a fool. Just don't cross Broad Street into Downtown with a Bud Light in your hand.
All those red solo cups and yeti tumblers downtown on gameday aren't filled with pumpkin spice latte.

Auburn has been my favorite roadie so far.

It's not just Athens either btw. It is all college towns in Georgia. Like I said, it's easy money. Folks ain't gon' let their kids spend even one minute in jail, and the cops and courts know this.

OU-Ark games will be fun due to proximity and amount of OU fans in NWA and Ark fans in Tulsa

You'll be hard pressed to beat the day night doubleheader of Keeneland/UK football in the fall.

Your friends' kids are shitheads or just have really bad luck. I lived in Athens for 17 years and partied like a motherfricker, and I still go regularly, and neither I, nor anyone else I knew, ever got cited for public intox. Especially on a game day.
Even not a gameday, any random Saturday night, 97.567% of people you see on the sidewalk are intoxicated.
I'm guessing your friends' kids were making up stories for their parents. Poor wittle ol' me, I was just finishing my 2nd Mich Ultra and walked to get a sandwich and the mean old cops singled me out for city greed! I'm a good boy mommy!

I've been to all venues except aTm and Mizzou. Everyone does football a bit differently, but I've had fun in all places and each one has a unique feel.
LSU can be a lot of fun, especially if you have a connection to some LSU fans. But if you get visitor seats in the top of the East deck, don't bother. You can see Texas from there, but the game is too far away.
Similarly, Sanford Stadium at UGA has a 600-level deck for visitors that sucks. The rest of the stadium has very good sight lines and it's a fun trip. I've probably been 10 times. Athens has a lot of bars and restaurants across from North Campus, just don't walk around with an open beer.
UT has some interesting things, like the T and the Vol Navy. We always stay near the park so I can't comment much on the campus and town. The stadium is cramped.
I liked both Ole Miss and Mississippi State, though they are very different. I like the smaller stadiums with good sight lines. Looks like MSU has really upgraded their stadium since I've been there. Need to go back.
Arkansas fans were great and the stadium was pretty nice. UK's stadium reminded me of a smaller Jordan-Hare. We enjoyed our only trip there and if the horses are running, you will too.
USCe is a little odd since the stadium is basically in an off-campus parking lot, but the fans were nice and it was a great environment. It's not far from Charleston so you can do both. Charleston is great.
Vandy has the smallest stadium and it could use some upgrades, but then there is Nashville too.
I've been to the Swamp many times, but only once in recent years. The scene has definitely changed. It's an interesting stadium. The fans are a mixed bag.
As for Auburn, I'm biased. I think you will find a friendly campus and fan base and a small downtown area, but one with sufficient bars and restaurants. Lodging can be challenging, so make reservations early. Jordan-Hare has good sight lines and an interior concourse. It is in need of some updates and I think we will be seeing some in the next few years. There is a lot of tailgating going on, but the days of just being able to jump the curb and create your own tailgate are gone. And there's the eagle flight too, plus Tiger Walk.
